From what i have seen on many different forums, I think people hate LSU just as much as they hate USC and thats big time! LOL I went over the the UW forums just to read up and see how there team is doing and it is nothing but overrated this, crap team that and LSU will go 8-5 again. Though, I would have to say that 8-5 is one of the worst seasons this decade for us, or at least since the recent seasons. I just cant see us losing more than 2 this year... Still, on other forums and the espn site, fans really hate LSU. Why? I'm in the military and I travel a lot so I see a lot of the games in some other state and when I wear my LSU shirt I always get the stink eye lol.. But hey, if they don't hate you then your not doing something right!
You answered your own question. Trust me, you don't want to be a team that people like or don't care about one way or the other. I'm sure those deluded UW fans you've encountered can vouch for that.
Most of the sh*t I get from other fans is over the 2-loss championship and who else they thought should've gone. But my argument is always, who was the best conference in CFB that year? They say SEC. Then I ask, well who won that conference? Shuts em up pretty quickly. But you're right. It's the arrival. LSU is one of the handful of teams at the top of mountain where the air is cleaner, the beer is colder, and the girls are finer and put out on the first date but your mom loves them anyway.
There are a lot of hated teams. Practically every one of them. The Washington boards are full of really childish jerks from Tiger Droppings who boast and flame and put down Washington. I'd hate LSU, too if that was all I saw.
