No. Both Ingram and Richardson each rushed for over 100 yards and averaged over five yards per carry. Each scored 2 TDs for a total of 4. Yes. Texas was held to 81 total rushing yards, 2.9 YPC. Yes. Bama was held to 58 yards passing. Yes. McCoy got injuried right after the game started and his freshman back-up only completed 37.5% of his passes and threw 4 INTs.
Texas can take solace in the fact that their cheerleaders and danceline and boosters were 1000 times more hot than Alabama's.
good one And yes, Texas would have been up 14-0 instead of only 6-0 if McCoy doesn't get hurt and that would have meant Alabama would have had to get out of their gameplan with running the ball. As you saw last night, McElroy failed miserably (worst performance ever in the history of the BCS national championship and probably any other national champion's bowl victory). Texas would have won 31-13 last night with McCoy in the game.
You really believe that?? It definitely would have been a different game with McCoy in there and Texas might have won. But Bama wouldn't have really abandoned the gameplan to run the ball. They might have thrown in a few more passes. But they weren't gonna severely limit a Heisman RB's touches or a monster true freshman's touches. Yeah, McElroy was awful last night. I was sick of hearing about his winning streak going back to high school. Well, they didn't win because of anything he did last night. But the WORST performance ever was Troy Smith against Florida in the title game. He was a Heisman winner and I think when you added his passing/rushing yards he had a total of 6 YARDS for the game.
You know what they say in Hollywood, I mean Pasadena, Never allow reality to get in the way of a good story. Still 37 to 21 Bama! Guess what they changed?
Senior LB Cory Reamer's helmet? In honor of how he said: "The Alabama nation, the Alabama family, it's a prideful place,' Reamer said. 'We don't have an NFL team, we don't have anything else. This is what everybody circles around."
