My first reaction was sarcastic, Stud is OC because he is an upper classman and Billy Gonzales is not. Anyway, I like Coach Gonzales and what I see him bringing into the team, massive improvement in run after catch for the wide outs, along with experience in a proven offensive system in the SEC, so I was expecting him to be the OC. I thought Coach Gonzales left FLA after a snub, so I am naturally worried that he will leave again if he feels slighted.
Who called the plays in the Cotton Bowl? Who all in ALL of the coaching staff has OC experience? Do we have a coach on staff (all of the staff) that has BCS team OC experience? I don't get the Billy G love. Last season, which group performed better? WRs? Or OL? (Not that it matters at all, since OC is a whole nuther muther)
Coaching Experience 1982-83 Nicholls State (receivers) 1984-86 McNeese State (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks) 1988-90 Louisiana Tech (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks) 1991-93 Georgia (quarterbacks/passing game coordinator) 1994-96 Texas A&M (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks) 1997-98 Clemson (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks) 2000-02 Central High School (head coach/athletics director) 2002 West Monroe High School (wide receivers) 2003-08 Auburn (quarterbacks, 2003; tight ends 2004-08) 2009 Smiths Station High School (passing game coordinator) 2010-11 LSU (tight ends) Les has said that Steves roll will change. He has done well as an OC and QB's coach over the years. LSU is in good shape with Ben as a GA.
I think our coaches will rally together and coach this team well. Remember the playbook isn't changing and we have enough experience with all of our coaches to cover what we need. BG,SE,Stud,Krag, etc. all have enough knowledge to keep these kids focused. I'm not too concerned, I just wish Krag and his family good fortune.
They just need a little focus, a better execution of the offense. No major changes. This is the same team that won 11 games last year. :tigereye:
