I know this thread may be too early for some (save the sensitive comments about this thread being too soon), but let's talk about the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

Why was Stud chosen as the playcaller for LSU's offense and not Billy Gonzales?

    Why?

Wasn't he the OC at Bowling Green? I remember them having a good offense when he was there.

From what I am hearing, it's because Stud has called plays at Bowling Green and Wortham or something like that. Sorry but that still does not make me feel better. But, trust the Hat, I guess....

Neither one seem qualified and it's too late to bring in an OC. However if I had to pick one I'd pick Billy.

To be honest, he's underwhelmed me with his work on the WRs. Though the "Les was meddling with Crowton" fans will have a field day now speculating that Les will actually be the one calling the plays.

I didn't realize that Stud had OC experience.

Funny how that works out, I hadn't even thought about that angle but you are 100% correct.

"Had" is the operative term, though. I can only assume there was a good reason why he was no longer an OC. . .

I have a feeling Krag will. This move is the smoothest, transition-wise. Step down now before disease/symptoms progress and not be in spot light, pressure, etc.

Think they're not going to still give him A LOT of input/say-so?

My mom has Parkinson's and I told her the other day I guess we'll have to let her drive until she wrecks and hope no one gets hurt. She still drives well though her Parkinson's has progressed and I say all this to give an example of the same principle, more or less.
