Why should there be a rematch?

I guess I wasn't clear enough when I said that if voters want someone else besides Bama in the NCG, then it'll happen. Since I'm so slow. Also see recent history, say about 5 seasons ago.

Right, because OU wouldn't move up after beating undefeated #2 on the road. :rolleye33: And that could, follow me on this now, jump them past Bama.

Try this: nothing is set in stone, and that includes after Stanford and Okie State drop games. Your scenario is a guess, as is mine and anyone else's. Stop trying to convince people it's inevitable when it isn't.

I agree. It would be like Alabama getting a bye while we have to go against GA or SC in the SEC Championship game. I say send Alabama to the SEC Championship game and give us the bye.

They can vote whomever they want to be #1 and #2 in the USA Today poll if they think they're #1 and #2. They're not obligated to look at last week's BCS standings, or the standings 4 weeks ago, to make that determination. If the voting is close, however, the computers will have the final say.

Yeah I got tripped up. I think their obligation is with crowning a National Champion and voting #1 as such like we saw in 2003-04.

:geaux: Possibly, but if a one-loss OU team beats an undefeated Okie St. and then wins the Big 12 Championship, they could very well overtake 'Bama and end up #2. Just sayin..........:LSU231:

I think the voters will keep Alabama real high just in case LSU slips up. If that doesn't happen...and OSU loses...and Stanford loses...I think many voters will move Boise State ahead of Alabama to avoid a rematch.

Stanford should move ahead of Alabama with a win over Oregon.

I just had a friend say that. We can't complain when the championship game has catapalted (sp?) SEC teams - including us- INTO the title game.

Apparently you are slow.. As I've posted, OU would not only have to pass Bama(which I would expect) but the voters(majority) would have to move someone else about Bama for the sole purpose of stopping Bama from going the the game.. As I've stated numerous times, this is not what I think should happen.. There's still lots of football to play and Stanford and OSU might both finish undefeated.. BUT, if they lose then people need to accept the reality.. This Bama team is not the Mich team from 5 yrs ago, besides LSU there probably isn't another team out there that can beat them, and the voters are very much aware of that..

You are correct but there would probably have to be a buffer team between OU and Bama..
