I really can not understand when every game I have watched so far, our lines have been MANHANDLED. O-Line we can not run the ball?????? Who cares if the mediocre teams we have played so far have loaded the box. Come ON! Charles Scott looks like pinatta in a baseball batting practice.. Our D-Line looks to moving backwards like Speed Racer telling Chim Chim he will be the next driver. Fix this? Come on! This is going to be a very long eventless season. Go SAINTS!
4-0 big deal!!!!!!!! Auburn would be 4-0 against the competition we have had. Come on give me something more than, it will magically be fixed because Les is so positive. Get ready for another 5 loss season.
He probably likes our chances in this game. Our receivers match up well against their secondary and our secondary matches up well against their receivers. And neither team can run the football. So we have the advantage on paper. My guess is that Leslie thinks we can throw to set up the run on Georgia.
Finally some one to stand up to the plate..... I would agree with you if we could open the field downfield to give the running game more ease to run the ball. Two problems: First we should never have had the problem with the competition we have faced so far to run the ball, and Two we can not throw the ball down field with the QB we have right now.
We beat a team in Washington that beat USC and it was no real contest in that game. Miss St usually plays us tough as does Vandy...no exception here. We went their house (Miss St) as a #4 team in the country. They were sky high. We are 4-0 and 2-0 in the SEC. If we were 2-2 or worse and I was Coach Miles I'd be worried then.
I wouldn't say we "Can not throw the ball down field". Did you see those deep passes last week? JJ is improving every week and I have no reason to think he won't this week either. I do agree that we should not have had a problem with the competition we've played so far. The running game scares the hell out of me. But the o-line is young and I'm hopeful they will gel....just hoping it's this week and not 4 weeks from now (if that is the case we will have 2 losses). It's also important to note that we've been facing 8 in the box. A young o-line, with an out of shape LT and an 8 man front equals a tough time running the rock.
