Just wondering if anyone can offer a legitimate reason why Louisiana's flagship university has no men's hoops talent this year and will be lucky to win 4 or 5 games in the SEC.

because trent is trying to build a program of mostly 4-year players. he wants kids that will stay and graduate. that's fine and everything, but i think that you still need guys like stromile swift or tyrus thomas or marcus thornton. you can get good players that will leave in a couple years without getting players like jaime lloreda. you need supplemental talent to win.

i guess he thought WINNING THE SEC last year, going 13-3 in league play, having two 1st team all SEC players, the player of the year, and being voted coach of the year would give him enough capital to get the 2011 class in.

can't wait until we don't win it all in omaha to hear your pithy comments regarding the state of the LSY baseball team.

We are coming of an SEC championship year where we lost 5 seniors who made heavy contributions. We held available schollies for the big names in this years highly ranked recruiting class and so we would have some available for the mega talents coming out of New Orleans in the next few years.

And I disagree that we have no talent now. Tasmin Mitchell is a great talent. We also have Malcom White who is not able to dress out this year as he is a transfer, and last time I checked Bo Spencer is a pretty good ball player.

Another reason is that Trent's predecessor spent most of his recruiting capital on bringing in a one and done player in Anthony Randolph and never addressed depth.

Trent is not repeating this mistake. The man is buildinga program.

Can there not be one basketball thread where you don't bring up the women's team.

Nice to see you're branching out beyond football. Or maybe not.

Never mind, you did pretty good for baseball. Basketball will be Champs next year.

We might as well start the fire Trent Johnson campaign now, since the negatigers are already jumping on him. Wait lets start the fire CPM campaign as well, even before the season starts since we all know we aren't going to repeat, so CPM must suck too. :dis:

Why are we limiting this to current coaches. Let's start a fire the next guy movement as well.
