In 1964 being Boy Scout I got my first taste of Tiger Stadium. We worked field level south end zone and I got to watch the band up close. The noise and the massive crowd just blew me away. Being a country boy from North Walker nothing in my youth compared to my visits to Tiger Stadium every year. My entire life of being a football fan has been built around my support and love of the Tigers. Football, baseball, basketball I am there! My job in 78-79 allowed me to be the point man man for American Sign company out of Washington state. I worked with D Gluck who was ast AD at LSU as we installed all new scoreboards for football, basketball, and baseball. We barely got the Football scoreboard going for the USC game and no body liked the new scoreboard updates. The old system would show each key stroke but with the new digital based system LSU 1st down! would show up all at the same time. I was there as Coach Mac was ran out of town and it hurt me. I went to church with his daughter and always loved Coach Mac. Like all Tiger fans I suffered with all the ups and downs. When Coach Saban showed up and brought the Tigers to the top of college football it was just amazing. Coach Saban was always at the top of so many coaching list for every new job that I always had the feeling he would leave. When he took the Dolphin job it did not shock me. It did not bother me the way he did it since there is no good way to leave a school to take another job. As Coach Miles came to town I did not like the hire. I did not know him and didn't think he had done that much. But as he took over and the team played so hard for him each week I started becoming a Miles guy. I liked the way he handled the media with his mild manner and smile. All he did was win baby!! 2007 is my best football year of all time. I loved the ups and downs of the year ending with that wonderful game against a very good OSU team. Dorsey and Hester might be my 2 favorite Tigers of all time. As we move on to the Capital One Bowl I am loving the fact I get to see my Tigers play PSU and Joe Paw. I expect my Tigers to win and I am looking forward to the 2010 bash to cheer in my new Tigers! I also look forward to a new year on The Tiger's Den and I will try to do a better job dealing with those of you that don't really know how to be good Tiger fans. I can't cure the problems of the world and I don't know how to fix stupid. So I will only post and allow the numbers of you that are really Bama fans to support your true team in any way you prefer. cliff:miles:
Cliff, I'm not trying to be an azz, but didn't you very publicly announce yesterday that you were "gone" from the Forum? What's all that about?
He missed us. He had a change of heart. Let's give the guy a break, it is obvious he loves LSU, and a lil bit of attention.
You need to learn how to deal with your own problems and insecurities before you try fixing everyone else. JMHO
Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid) – Medical information regarding this treatment for bipolar and depressive disorders on MedicineNet.com Bipolar disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Cliff, here are some links man, like Stacey not trying to be mean, but wow.
And you get positive rep from me for that. However I expect drama from my 10yr old daughter, from a 40-50 year old man, intolerable!
Thanks, and Happy Holidays to you and yours. May you find sanity underneath your tree. Along with love and happiness.
come on, guys. i know how Cliff feels. sometimes some of the members here can be a bit too much to handle. add to that some of the immature remarks when someone is being serious in a thread and people's feelings can get hurt. i've had more than my fair share of "i'm outta here" posts, but i realize now that i was mostly being immature about things. sometimes issues in peoples lives get out of hand and they come to TF for solace (or an escape.) i know that there are many people who personally asked me not to leave TF when i "threatened" to, and i took it to heart. you just have to know how to deal with certain posters. some of you need to realize that some posters here actually take this forum seriously and view other posters more as friends than "anonymous message board members." some people here like to think that they're high and mighty (i'm not naming names,) and they need to remember the adage: "if you don't have anything nice to say..." it also seems like some people need to realize that emotions are going to come out at times because a lot of members here are very passionate about LSU. plus it's christmas time. that may not mean a lot to some people, but it should.
