We were off to a great start in recruiting but seem to have gotten off track. In looking on Rivals we are ranked 22 and even though we have quality 13 commits there are alot of teams that have more. I am a little worried . We need to get back on track.
There are different commitment waves... there are the guys who come in during the summer.. there are the guys who take visits and commit during one of those, and there are the guys who wait til NSD... We havent had any of the big visit games yet.. I'm sure quite a few will come to see Tenn and Florida... Also, typically, the more elite recruits wait until NSD anyway...
Because coaches are concentrating on getting ready for the season and playing the first couple of games before the dead period ends. Now that they can call recruits once a week, and recruits start attending officials, it should pick up. FightinTIGER you're an idiot.
This is not a real big time for recruiting.... At the end of the year is where we will do our damage.
A couple of usually reliable posters on TB say there is 2-3 unannounced commits right now, and that they may be known within 2 weeks. Take it for what it's worth.
We always have secret commitments but until they are announced, we have no more commitments. As far as recruiting, team keeps winning, recruiting will handle itself. Considering the situation with Saban leaving and how Miles finished, don't get so caught up in the recruiting game having slowed down.....obviously across the country this has happened. Come calling about the time the Tennessee game ends and let me know if you think recruiting is down. We are going to have some VERY good recruits in that weekend, could have been more but due to the Hurricane kinda deterred the big weekend. Maybe Florida is the game the staff will bring the big weekend in. Keep winning and we shall be alright!
The rumor is that LSU is setting up Florida as its big recruit visit weekend because of the hotel situation right now.
MLB from Stone Mountian, Georgia, goes to Stephenson HS, where Perry Riley and Marcus Ball also go (two other LB prospects that we're both interested in). He's 6'2, 222 and runs in the 4.6 range, we've been in the lead for Kelvin for a while and he will be in town for the Tennessee game, he has no other official visits planned for after that.
