Why do these non televised OOC games start at 6 PM CST?

Is there a trick to watching a game on espn3 and have the ability to pause, rewind, etc.? I'm really spoiled with DVR features, and when I've had to resort to using espn3 to watch a game this season, I found myself grabbing my remote to pause it. (I use an HTPC hooked up to my TV so in full-screen mode it seems sort of like watching a normal game, other than the lack of DVR functionality).
