Fair enough. Every person on Earth has plenty of decisions they'd take back and do differently if they could. Without a doubt, Miles is no exception to that rule.
I think this is the over whelming feeling about Miles, however I am sure T-Bob Hebert and the guys that had to sit the bench during the '11 cluster, have a different opinion of Miles.
How old are you and how long have you been following LSU football or college football in general? Coaches like Les, Saban, Stoops, etc. are not a dime a dozen and 10 years is just a short amount of time when you are winning. I for one definitely do not want to go back to the bad years at LSU, letting some chicken head AD try to find us a coach that can keep us at the top like we have been. I want him to follow in the footsteps of someone like Bowden and leave when he is ready. As long as we keep putting quality on the field he can stay. I don't think some of you guys realize how hard it is to do what these guys have done. I don't see anybody doing what Saban has done for a long time. And Les, Stoops, Bowden, and those guys have all done a great deal of winning which is not easy. Ask BB in R-Kansas. Look at Texas, everybody thought Strong was just going to come in an show the ole man how its done. I see a few years before that program turns around and they are playing in the kiddie conference, imagine how hard it is in our conference or even our half of the conference.
Well Shane obviously he learned something from that incident because he twice had the chance to do to our guys and didn't. Imagine the pull to Michigan as compared to LSU, he prob. realized his mistake and decided to not repeat that mistake. Shows character to me. I don't believe he is a choir boy and there is prob. time he did do wrong, but since he has been here its been pretty clean. Unless something comes out about him I think he is an alright guy.

I can see that going down a few different ways. 1. He leaves in the cover of the night like Bobby Petrino. Now word to anyone. 2. The AD said you can't tell this team before the game. It would be a total let down to the team, fans, tickets sold, etc...We have to play a game. And then get the AD says after get the hell out now. Either way, the coach taking another job doesn't go down well. Saban made his announcement he was leaving LSU in Miami and promised he wasn't going to leave the Dolphins and then what?
The rumors were definitely out. I was on a flight with one of the coaches on his staff, sat next to him and had a pretty good chat. He told me (and the same story also told by a player a couple years later) that they were at the team dinner the night before the game. Les slammed his hand down on the table and emphatically stayed he wasn't going anywhere. For what it's worth. Like I said, whatever reason he had I'm sure it made sense to him at the time. He has also said quite a few times that if he had it to do over he would do it differently. He regrets the decisions he made in the process and I don't hold that against him.
