The big knock on Les is he doesn't develop QB's. Well Bobby Petrino is so good he can train a monkey to throw for 300 yards a game, you want him as your coach? Look at some of those juggernaut's of offense, Dana Holgerson, lame Kitten, bobby P. I wouldn't take any of them. I have no doubt they could turn our talent into an offensive howitzer at LSU. But what condition would our program be in when they are forced to leave.
i think i realized with the help of your post that in order to have an elite passing game on the college level, your coach must be a complete douche nozzle. your more secure manly type coaches have more balanced or conservative type offenses. the others must seek attention with their napoleonic complexes and their look at me type offenses. all flash, no substance, like them. this would also explain why saban had to convert. teams do reflect the personality of their coaches in more ways than one i suppose.
