When I watch him it looks almost like a deer in the headlights. Unless he is handing the ball off or throwing go routes. I just think that it's going to take too long to teach him the position. We are going into our 11th game of the season and he still isn't going through his progressions. From week 1-10 he is still the same guy with the same issues. Please tell me that I'm wrong
Mett's first year was 20x better than this. You and I both would love for Jennings to have those numbers
But our record wasn't any better, really, so what's the point? And he wasn't 20 times better. That's a silly hyperbole. I was, however, comparing his rough first year in the SEC vs. his good second year.
Well I must say that his and the coaches interviews point to a direction of improvement. It generally goes like this; He is improving as the year goes on. He is making good or correct choices (reads) now but he is needs improvement on his accuracy (spots). He went from a disastrous 3 picks against New Mexico St. to 1 pick against Alabama (where the receiver fell down). I think he may not be throwing into double coverage as much but he is also missing the guy who is wide open. That guy might be a third option and by that time his happy feet takes him out of the pocket and closes down one side of the field. Maybe that is progress. If he knows his reads now he can spend the first 8 months of the season working on reps for accuracy. All of that makes it nearly impossible to see Harris very much. Miles just doesn't want a mistake. That is bar for a QB at LSU.
