I read an article on SI (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/cory_mccartney/11/29/ohiost.georgia/index.html)
where Georgia is mentioned in NC championship discussions?

From the article.." Georgia defensive end Marcus Howard .. "We're going to be glued to the TV, just watching the games hoping West Virginia lose and Missouri lose so we get a shot at that natty."

What??? Don't you have to win conference camp to be in NC game? I thgt they fixed that after 2003/OU debacle? Or am I getting it wrong. I will be happy to have SEC rep in NC game but come on, they didn't even win the division?

Yep.. and if Va Tech wins, I'd suspect it would be them instead of GA since they actually would have a conference championship. So one would think, anyway.

It never was changed and I don't think it should be. Conference championships should not override an entire season's portfolio. The entire season should be taken into account. Now if Georgia is rated higher even after an LSU victory, I'm curious to see what the nation thinks should happen. I imagine most would think LSU should get in over Georgia because of the conference championship issue. If this were to transpire, I might have to slightly modify the guidelines I set up for my playoff.

I think the bigger issue is that they aren't even PLAYING for their CC. Still, we would likely need to CRUSH Tenorsee to have a shot, even with WV and Mizzou both losing. I think VT's downfall, in this scenario, would be that voters couldn't overlook the 48-7 whoopin' they took against us, so we would jump them, whether they win or lose...assuming we destroy UcheaT.

It's Herbsteit's fault..Always looking for a bandwagon team...As soon as he knew that USC wasn't gonna make it, he had to jump in another team's bandwagon..That team happened to be Georgia.

If LSU wins, they're gonna jump UGA in the BCS...I'm not saying that they'll play in NCG...The extra win will boost their computer rankings.

UGA almost has ZERO shot. Everone would have to lose...Mizzou, WV, LSU, Va Tech.

Then we'd have an even bigger mess.....

    tOSU 11-1
    Kansas 11-1
    UGA 10-2
    Mizzou 11-2
    OU 11-2
    USC 10-2
Hawaii 12-0 .... wouldn't that be some chit?
