Hopefully we'll see that when needed. That and an effort to block a punt. And stiff special teams coverage while I'm wishing.

First of all, our WR are NOT fighting for the ball. CATCH THE BALL. The dropsies are killing us.

Secondly, stop telling me we have 5 Star wideouts. Dural could have easily had 2 or 3 more catches. But if you can't beat a 180 pound corner from Eastern Michigan for the ball, you're not beating an NFL DB. So please STOP IT.

Lastly, in the second half of the game we were very, very vanilla. Pound the rock. Score once or twice. Go home.

If they can't catch balls against EMU, to hell with the NFL, Florida is gonna eat them up.

I don't remember if it was the Auburn or Syracuse came, but something that was telling to me on these receivers and the lack of effort was a 1st quarter pass to Diarse who was running maybe a 10-yard and in route over the middle. The throw was not perfect by any means because Harris led him too much. No excuse for not putting it right on his hands. But the sad part was, Diarse made no effort to lay out for it. He reached one hand out and pulled up. Jarvis Landry would have been on the ground hauling that pass in. Diarse is the ONE guy who would get a pass from me because his time spent as a WR is exactly equal to the time he's been at LSU. Dural and Dupre have spent years playing WR. No excuses. Out of all those guys, someone has to have a want to be great. Four games and at least 15 outright drops. There should not be that many drops in a full season.

To be fair it is no more realistic to expect there to be no drops than it is for anyone to expect a QB not to throw bad passes. Given the sample sizes it's bound to happen. Aaron Rodgers is the best thing going right now and he throws a couple bad passes every game. Julio Jones is probably the best WR in the game right now and he dropped a pass yesterday. It happens. But we shouldn't have a seasons worth of drops in four games. Drops + poor effort should equal some bench time and from the post-game comments from CLM he's fed up with it as well.

I would love to see CLM go back to the 05-06 days where drops earned you a ticket to the human Juggs machine Jamarcus Russell. The dropsies meant you lined up 10 yards away while JR hurled passes at you with that cannon until you stop dropping passes. Harris has that kind of arm. Or hell, let Jamarcus do it. He'd do it for a case of purple stuff and a bag of $1s for the strip club. I'll supply the singles. Can't help with the sizzurp...

You're exactly right. This team will not win the division or the conference if our WR don't start making 4 and 5 star plays when they get chances.

Did you watch the Green Bay San Fran game yesterday? Colin Kaepernick reminded me of Jordan Jefferson. He was throwing balls like a baseball, just hurling them into the ground.

I agree though, and I also think Jarvis really spoiled us. I swear to you if I was starting a professional team today, after I picked a top flight quarterback, Jarvis Landry would be my next selection. Watching the Jets and Dolphins yesterday I swear Jarvis was the only person on the Phins who actually gave a shit, he plays every play like its his last, the effort he gives is 1000% on every play. Complete reckless abandon. I wish he would come back and speak to these guys. They all want to be Odell and that's not bad but they should try to be like Jarvis. Dural, I don't know what the hell is wrong with him, he pulls up way too often, and is starting to drop more passes than Brandon LaFell did, remember the LaFell butterfingers picture, that's Dural right now. Diarse, hell you can't take him out because the guy can block like Clayton and LaFell used to, just a physical guy. Dupree, he seems like a primadonna to me. He talks to the media about LSU having to throw the football to win a national championship, but can't catch a cold.

You know who I would like to see get converted to a receiver or at least see what he can do, Jacory Washington. He is very skilled, can catch the ball, it's just the speed I guess he is lacking? I'm not sure I know he is a tight end and our TE's really don't see the field unless they can block, but why not try him in the slot running a cross or a 3 and out or a little flare to the flats or even a wheel route. I was so impressed with him coming out of high school and I just get this feeling he will never see the field.

He doesn't even have to come to the locker room (though it would be nice). All it takes is saying hey mofo! You see how me and Odell and B. Lafell, and hell even D. Bowe are playing in the NFL? We are here because we give a shit. Now even Rueben is playing like he gives a shit. You won't sniff the NFL beyond a pre-season tryout with that kind of effort.

And Dupre, well he's right, we do have to pass the ball to win a championship. But they have to catch it. He may be guilty of reading his own headlines considering he had Keenan Lewis crowning him before he ever played a down for LSU. He should be used to few passes considering the offense he came form at Curtis. But either way, play like you want to be the baddest mofo on the planet. And if that means trying like hell to catch an imperfect pass then do it. It's more guys getting drafted on qualitative shit like potential and effort than actual stats anyway.

What do you think about the Washington comment? Why isn't he seeing the field? I mean I guess the obvious we don't use catching tight ends excuse is probably the main reason but I still think this guy is a weapon that is being wasted.
