Oh come on. This ain't pop warner. Yeah, Harris threw a rope but if your a Div I, highly recruited prospect you gotta catch that ball. Guess who else throws hard -Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Matthew Stafford,....
That was his main issue tonight. Many of his throws were on target, just too much mustard. Combine that with a few others that the WRs (specifically Dural) should have caught (Dural literally dropped a few, and didn't complete his route on a few others), and his numbers would look a heckuva lot better. I don't have too much complaint w/play calling or the passing game overall. Just need a little better execution, and a few less mistakes. The offense will only improve. My concern really lies on the defense. I'm hoping they get better, cuz they are going to need to with much better offenses on the second half of our schedule.
That's a fair point too. He did throw passes that were behind open receivers or weren't in rhythm. But you're right, this isn't all on the coaching staff. All the more reason to continue working on it against inferior competition and not just hope the light bulb conveniently switches on when we need it.
1. Suspect QB 2. Suspect Receivers 3. Suspect Coach 4. Predictable and no creativity And that is on the offensive side of the ball. Yikes!
Why is Harris only looking for the deep ball? I thought the o line did a better job protecting, though we were playing EMU. Someone mentioned he isn't looking off his receivers, and he isn't. He is just slinging it deep.
Yeah, I know. The numbers look horrible. The INT was a fluke, so no worries there. Go back and watch the replay, FF to just pass plays, and I bet you'll agree that those stats could have been very different.
Yeah, I commend the coaches for working on the passing game, but it is inexcusable that this was the best we could do passing. I'm guessing passing defenses will only be harder in the future.
