Ask Drew Brees, who had Sean Peyton personally give him a tour of the city during Drew's free agent visit, if Peyton knows how to "recruit" a player.

I think Del Rio looks and acts like a college coach. His "rah-rah" style isn't sustainable, long-term, in today's NFL (ask Bill Parcells), and perhaps this is one reason why he's interested in LSU.

Pete Carroll hadn't coached in college in nearly 17 years when he went to USC, but he seemed to get the hang of that recruiting high school kids thing pretty quickly.

Only rumors. Insiders say openly that he blew his interview, but they don't give details. It has been speculated that he copped an attitude with Skip and acted like the job was his for the taking. It has also been speculated that he did not have acceptable answers about some stories then circulating about recruiting irregularities at Louisiville.

Only Skip knows for sure. And CRAWFISH, of course. :hihi:

First of all, FWIW, Notre Dame didn't hire Charlie Weis b/c they wanted an NFL coach. He was pretty much the only guy that wanted the job after things fell apart w/ Meyer.

Secondly, IF they need to find a coach, does LSU really need to worry about going after a "big name" coach? Think about the last two hires at LSU. Neither Saban or Miles were hot prospects when they took the LSU job. Neither one was setting the world on fire w/ their current teams. And yet, each had tremendous success at LSU, and both are not considered great coaches that everyone wished they had (yes, even Saban).

I think you have to trust that if the administration, if they are forced into the situation again, will come through. Now you have to also consider that it's the same school that hired the Archer/Hallman/Dinardo trifecta, but that was different people sitting in the offices.
