Peyton Manning just threw a pic that got returned for a TD today.

The thing with Lee is that the coaches see him play every day in practice, and even though he's a better QB than Hatch, for some reason we have been using Hatch with him in a dual-QB system. Something about Lee apparently has our coaches scared to trust him as our full-time QB.

As evidenced by calling a passing play on 3rd and 4, for his first play in the game after a pick 6? No trust huh?

I would say that his performance in the first 1/2 is why Hatch edged him out. I would say that him being in charge of the 2 minute offense, and his performance in the second 1/2 showed why the coaches showed no fear in letting him throw it again.

and the Colts are going to trust him to run their offense the rest of the year?

Crowton apparently likes the 2 QB system. It worked alright last year.

I can't say this any better than the guys on here already have. I remember Matt Mauck putting us behind the 8-ball in a major way at Ole Miss in '03. His pick six was every bit as terrible and costly and potentially devastating as Lee's last night.

But he put it together and won, just as Lee did.

Lee's been getting about as much playing time as Hatch (and now has more because of the injury.) The coaches had and have faith in him. If they'd had no faith in Lee, perhaps they'd have inserted Jefferson.

They didn't because they (not us) KNEW what he could do.

and a huge myth is that you just need a qb who wont lose the game. thats complete bs. in the sec there will be many times you are behind and need to make plays late when time is a factor. much like last night coming from behind twice.

nothing more boring than playing not to lose praying you dont make a mistake.

miles plays the exact opposite and its a direct correlation to LSU's recent uncanny success.

you want a qb who can make a play when you need it. the time in a game will come at some point.

oh and regarding the original post here. kteam, if you arent feeling nothing but positive after last night's turnaround, mainly lee, I dont know what to tell you homie.

you have to reach pretty deep to find something not to be excited about that transformation. either that or you're blind.

I just finished re-watching the game. Lee wasn't just capable after he came in for the injured Hatch. HE was a playmaker in his own right.

For whatever reason, Lee didn't show it the first two and a half games, but he must have balls like his coach's.

We have to take advantage of both of these quarterbacks and everything they bring to the table. At least we don't have to worry that one of them is going to get arrested at a bar or running drugs around town at 3:00 AM in the company of Derek Odom and Xavier Carter.

it changed as soon as he was the only option and hatch went down. for whatever reason, his mindset went from scared and apprehensive to an aggressive playmaker knowing he was going to have to win it.

most usually do the opposite and crumble when they become the spotlight. thats why most everyone has high hopes for lee. cant teach that even if it ends up being just one game.

    he met the challenge.

I'm not saying that don't trust him to throw the ball. That's his job. He is our QB. Same with Hatch (who we let throw on 3rd and 4 and 3rd and 5 in the 2nd Quarter).

I'm saying they haven't trusted Lee to be our full-time QB -- instead letting some guy who isn't as good as he is split playing time with him.

I don't know why we are doing the QB-system. If I ever get to talk to Crowton, I'll ask him.

its obvious why lee was not handed the job. hes much younger and needed time to develop to let his skills take over his head.

last night he did that. will he do this every game and is now ready? not likely.

its a game by game learning experience and as red said, both will be used. you can book that.
