I really don't understand all of the negativity here after this game. LSU lost by only one point. People act like they got blown out. Coach Miles threw the ball in the last series because Clemson was expecting the run. Players have to execute. Coach Miles just got a nice raise and a LONNNGGGG contract extension for SEVEN years. The LSU football program belongs to him for at lease seven more years. I look forward to his steady leadership and winning records.
8 three and outs Jean Lafitte, lead to an unprecedented 100 offensive plays by Clemson. If not for Jeremy Hill, we get ass fucked.
Les' record at LSU is impressive, but it's fool's gold. It's the one thing everyone always points to when we win, but underachieve in doing so and because of it, we will never replace him. For the sake of our program, I hope he figures out that he needs to hire a creative offensive coordinator, with a proven track record of QB development, then stay the hell out of his way and let him call the game. And for the record, when I say 'creative', I don't mean 5 wide, spread option on every play. You can still be a dominant, run first team and be creative with blocking schemes, misdirection, and so forth.
as long as we have chief's defense to counter clm offense we should be ok...just ok though...nothing more.
It would take a game like this for Les to even consider making a change. We hang on for the W and it's a certainty that Stud is still here next year, instead of the strong probability it is now. For all the Mad Hatter BS talk, Les' recent history indicates that he's risk-averse with his assistants. Pelini leaves, so let's put Malleveto in the DC spot since they know the system. Undefeated regular season with a patchwork offensive staff, so why rock the boat? We're going to find out how much fire Les really has left in the belly to get back to the top of the college football world, or if he simply wants to maintain 9-10 wins with his extension.
Regarding your last sentence, will the administration and those with influence allow that to happen? I would like to think not.
