I'm still not sure about McKnight. I really think USC might dazzle him and grab him, same with Chad Jones. But in the end they both will probably want to stay near home and sign with LSU. Would be two huge pickups if we can somehow get them.

I think Tolliver will come here once he sees that Bowe and Davis are leaving and he'll play as a true freshman. He reminds me a lot of a young Bowe.

I like our chances with Demetrius Byrd who is a good juco player. He might play right away too. Deonte Thompson will probably pick Florida but we MIGHT have a shot.

Francois will probably sign with us and is a very good safety.

Blackwell might sign but honestly with Barksdale and Davis and Nevis (all rated higher than Blackwell) already committed it won't be a huge loss if we can't get him.

Maybe this class, Saban going to Bama, and the Sugar bowl win will solidify the fan base behind miles. I think with next year's schedule everything is looking purple and gold( and LSU! )!

I was suprised today while watching the AA game. They were talking about the recruiting giants. I remember they mentioned Fulmer, Meyer, etc. Miles wasnt even mentioned. Now if you want to question him being a top notch coach, thats understandable. I mean Im sure eve his biggest backers would agree. No way though can you question him not being a big time recruiter. LSU is moving up into the same league as Florida, Tn, OSU, Michigan, and Texas is recruiting. USC is of course in a league to themselves.

I would add Blackwell to the probable list. I think he goes to the same high school as Luther Davis. I would love to see us sign Hicks, as we need a LB. Devine just doesn't seem to fit our plans, as we already have a version of him named Trindon Holliday. Bryant and Thompson don't seem likely, especially if we sign Tolliver, but you never know.

I doubt LSU will get Hicks, he his a big lean to Florida.

As exciting as Holliday is, IMO Devine has much more potential. Devine has a lot more strength to break tackles, more vision, much better balance, and similar game breaking speed. That is NOT at all a knock on Holliday, just how good Devine is. IMO you can never have too much game breaking speed. Especially in the SEC.

I doubt LSU goes after Bryant unless Toliver doesnt commit like expected. I recently read that Bryant is improving on his academics. He is very high on LSU, its just for LSU to want him. That is the only scenario Id see him coming to LSU

Bryant could be converted to a DB. Don't forge that option. Just ask Corey Webster.

i dont really follow recruiting. i go to the bash and all that good stuff but ive been pretty certain from all ive ever heard is mcknight is a USC admirer and will end up there.

im almost certain of it. just feels that way so i ignore the LSU faithful who think otherwise.

Well the thing is that often times for players in state, their families intervene and convince them that staying near home is better so they can attend all the games. It's the main reason we got guys like Perrilloux and Jai Eugene. In fact, I think Eugene even committed to Michigan at the AA game and then changed to us. So that's the main thing going for us. I also think McKnight will pick USC, but hey, you never know in the crazy world of recruiting.

oh i completely agree with this and am aware that the in-state pressure dictates it at times. I just think his heart tells him USC and where he will end up. you dont want guys who want to be somewhere else. then again, an 18 yr old is quite impressionable and one run out of the tiger tunnel and everything else is forgotten.

hell, I wanted to go to FSU at one point yet went to LSU. certainly I made the right decision.

True, true. Corey didnt do too bad either eh?:D

Jai Eugene signed at the last second with LSU because he said he wanted to be closer to his son. Going to Michigan would mean he could rarely see his son.
