I think it was last year or two years ago that the NFL tried to tell some churches holding Super Bowl events to cease and desist, caught a ton of flak for it, and then changed their mind and said churches were exempt from the "mass public viewing" rule.

happened two years ago and doing it again locally I just heard.

he sent a cease and desist or court order telling them they cannot advertise a super bowl bash or even a party for that matter.

well at least not without an nfl licensing fee.

friend of mine was explaining earlier how that happened to some school or church locally today which reminded me of 2 years ago.

ill have to find out which place it was since i wasnt paying too much attn.

im pretty sure i also remember reading something about any screens 60" or larger are subject to the fee. even in your own house.

be sure to report that if you have one.

None. I am currently wearing a purple-and-gold LSU shirt :geauxtige

But I'd be wearing a #55 Fujita jersey if I had one.

Well, obviously not a problem anymore being that numerous churches are holding widely-publicized Super Bowl events in New Orleans this weekend. Same thing with hotels, bars, etc.

The only problem is with Prytania Theater. They had a free viewing for the NFC Championship game and I'm reading in the news today that the NFL sent him a letter so the owner doesn't "know yet whether the theather will be open to the public Sunday."

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one of those jerseys with the Super Bowl patch from nfl-trade, but can't decide which one. Only one I have now is a black Brees. A white Shockey jersey might be a good idea, or maybe a white Fujita...

I rocked out my black #51 Vilma jersey. I wouldn't mind having one of the #55's though.

Ha, the only problem is that the Saints wore their white jerseys last night. The ones pictured are black. Do they have any white ones with the SB patch?
