Yes but I would argue that they deserved a bid before Arkansas especially since the Beavs took the series (2-1) against Georgia in late Feb/early March. I also think UCSB got hosed even though they are not in the Pac.
I don't know if either deserved it but it's hard to make an argument for Oregon State this year. That had a great two year run and will rebound.
Or if Georgia wins and UCLA loses then it's 2 of 9 and 3 of 5. The other SEC teams I thought might put up a fight would have been Vandy and Fla. But, the selection committee decided well. Pending the outcome of tonights ballgames, most 1st seeds are playing super regionals. Only a small few didn't make it.
for the record, i dont think ou deserved to be in. but at 14-15 in conference play, arky had a better case than ou at 9-17 in conf play.
It's not just about 1st seeds but overall bids including the at large ones. OSU and UCSB were deserving. And 3 of 5 is still > than 2 of 9. That's not sour grapes, it's reality and it happens regularly when it comes to the pairings. I understand that money and attendance has a lot to do with it but like Judge Judy says, "don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining".
