I agree for the most part, I don't agree he is a respected figure in coaching (not HC in the SEC anyway). He can be though. That's the upside! I honestly don't think this really has to do with Coach O. I think the bulk of disappointment is that LSU didn't go get a proven national championship caliber coach after letting Miles go. Coach O is just the whipping boy (as would be any other Vanilla name). I'll agree, he deserves a fair chance and most of the disappointed fans are using his past as reasoning to doubt his future. People/coaches can change and can certainly improve and we're all hoping he can. Most are just certain he is who he is, Coach YawYaw. A great recruiter and motivator, not SEC Championship Caliber HC material. But I have to believe had Clemson been in the same boat, their fans would have felt the same way about the Dabo hire, very similar hires. I also think a lot of fans will feel better after we see him go smack some SEC teams around and get the taste of that nasty Mississippi State ass whooping out of our mouths.
Dabo is similar and struggled the first few years of his time there. None here would've been thrilled at that hire. Eaux alone wasn't highly sought as a HC, but Eaux/Aranda/Canada would pique the interest of many programs. It's a risk and experiment, but bring in successful mid-major coaches would have been as risky if not more so. Hoping we can get that ass whooping behind us. I'll feel a lot worse if we don't.
You must first take into accout who is forming that opinion. Shouldn't take you too long to figure it out
We're going 8-4 and will win a dipshit Bowl. Who among us truly expected more while we're in 'Recovery from Elmer' mode? Unwad your panties and relax. Next year 9-3. In '19 we reach cruising altitude. Patience, grasshoppers.
For remainder of season I'm planning on a shot of Cuervo each time a receiver drops a pass. I might need an A A sponsor by Aggie game.
