This is just a hypothetical and I'm not counting LSU in yet. For the sake of discussion, let's assume we do make it. With all this talk about us hoping to face this team and not that one, I was wondering what the sentiment was about a "quality opponent". The system says whatever opponent we face is the "deserving", I understand that. Is it okay to hope for a "lesser" opponent? Or should we hope for the "best" team to face us, giving our title more credence? What means more to you? Winning a title over a perceived inferior Boise St/Oklahoma St. OR a Bama or Oregon rematch because they are truly the "better" 2nd and 3rd teams? I put a poll. It's not public. #4 makes #1 redundant, sorry.
I am now thinking Bama I know it gives us a tough game but I don't want it to be easy. The idea of beating Bama twice is just to cool.
I understand your point but Oklahoma seems like sloppy seconds to me. In terms of BCS history, they're like that girl in HS that everybody got a piece from. That's kinda what I'm thinking. Our fans called for them with the "We want Bama" chants/signs and we took 'em down. That was sweet backing up the talk.
I want to play the best. I would be nervous as hell but would relish a shot at beating Bama twice in one season. What team can say that they beat Bama twice in one season?
If we would lose a close game to Arkansas, could you see it happening that, we still win the West, win the Sec title game, and have a rematch with Arkansas in the BCS championship?
I understand it's a real stretch. It lsu loses they could only drop to second. Ark would have to jump ahead of Oregon and Oklahoma. Then a decisive win by lsu over georgia would have to help Arkansas in the computers enough to jump them over Bama. Its a total stretch I know. I guess I have too much time on my hands to think about this crap.
So if Bama won, we'd have this at the end. LSU - 13-1 with a win over Bama and SEC West and SEC Champions Bama 12-1 with a win over LSU. National Champions Makes a lot of phuckin sense.
