I think Jefferson starts. I really, really hope I'm wrong. More passes with JJ? If that happens we are screwed...
+1mil Lee is our guy, but a QB getting injured is just another Saturday in the SEC. Gotta have 2 to make a run at it, unless you have a Tebow. Oh, and Jefferson doesn't deserve to be on the field? And just who are you, clown? You need a reality check and a hard dose of class if you call out one of your players on a public forum. Just because it's allowed to come out your mouth doesn't mean it should. Even as horrible as he's played, you don't say that about a 19 year old kid on YOUR football team.
Red .... too far?? A slump?? I don't consider a year and half slide to greater depths of ineptitude a slump. I didn't think Jefferson was any good last year, and I think he's gotten even worse this year. It ain't anything personal, I'm sure he's a great guy ... but he just doesn't have the qualities to be even a "good" QB, let alone a great one. But ... I do agree that your back up should see a series or two a game .... if you're winning!
To be honest I think it has more to do with Auburn. If you don't name you're starter they will have to spend just a little more time working up a scheme for both to start the game. If I were Miles I think I'd trick everyone and start the first series with Shep in the Wild Tiger for the first series.
For some reason I think that Miles is working with the ghost of Johnny Cochran on the new "Chewbacca Offense" as a twist on the famed "Chewbacca Defense". Put Shep in for some trickeration I tell ya. Talk about killing the confidence of both QBs... :yelwink2:
Shouldn't really focus on who will start but who gets the most snaps especially on passing downs. We will start JJ.
Great, give him 1 possession and then hand it over to the guy who can actually move the ball down the field. Lee for the rest of the game.
We no longer take any solace in that way of thinking. We simply must maximize our offensive output. If JJ plays even 20% of the time, we are screwed. Screwed.
This is about right. If he starts he's going to get about half the snaps if not more. We can't afford that against Auburn, IMO. Plus, who really believes that starting your second best QB at Jordan Hare Stadium is a great idea? Once we get down 7 or 14 points, it's going to be that much tougher of an environment to come back in.
We all have to accept it. It is going to be JJ and Lee at least until we find some run support. Ridley has to have breathers during the game and JJ has been our only option to help gain yards on the ground and getting into the endzone. We need Murphy, Ford, and/or Ware to take advantage and it is looking that they are starting to arrive minus Murphy so far. Blue will be out this game. On drives where passing will be heavy we need Lee in there. He we fall behind everyone will get their wish of Lee playing a majority of the game. I prefer JJ to have a similar game to the UF game. A few big plays on limited passing and help punching it in while in the redzone from time to time.
