After hearing Les Miles' interview on monday I'm almost positive JJ will start. To quote: "I think that Jarrett Lee is really improving. I think the position that he's in right now, he enjoys coming in and contributing like he is contributing. I don't think we are really trying to reign him in, in any way. I just think we are trying to allow the development to continue and to do so that would benefit our football team, but he'll have his chances. I promise you, and we look forward to those. We think he's improved, and again, I think it will all play out." The way he phrases that "The position he's in right now" and "he enjoys COMING IN" leads me to believe he still hasn't changed his mind about starting Lee. I'm certain now it will take a loss for us to make a change QB, at which point, it won't even matter because we'll already have dropped a game. I just hope that JJ doesn't hurt us too bad the first two series and that Auburn doesn't get too far up before Lee sees the field.
I am thinking any sane coach would know that LSU will be relying on JL in moving the offense, regardless of whether JJ starts or not (which is a moot point). That being said, I think it's time for LSU to prepare some trickery plays from JJ, like letting him throw an easy unexpected pass....... Didn't they let JL do the read option recently?
Maybe, but this would mean that 51% of the respondents were not paying attention. Ok, maybe not that high a percentage, since some voters acknowledged that they were voting for what they though should happen rather than would happen.
JJ barring an injury will be the starter. But whats really sad is, when Lee does get in the game and takes us down into Auburns territory, JJ will come in and screw it all up. Wonder how long Billy will hang around this disaster of an offensive coaching scheme?
Interesting. I read the interview also and I came away thinking Lee will start. In previous weeks, he stated that Jefferson would start. This week he stated that it doesn't matter who starts. That subtle change to me indicates that Lee will start. You can read his statements either way, I think, because he is being deliberately vague. I hope it doesn't take a loss for him to pull the plug on Jefferson, but if your interpretation is correct, it may.
Good question. He (BG) was supposed to be such a big addition to the offensive coaching staff, but I think it's still Miles & Crowton pulling the strings.
I ain't so sure. The last three weeks he came out and said that Jefferson would start on Monday. Yesterday, he says . . . "Whether we change the order or if we don't change the order I truly do not think is of any importance. Both of them have played and both have played well against this opponent." This week he's mentioning changing the order. I think the Rubicon has been crossed.
I hope when Lee does go in and look's like he has a hot hand that Miles will leave him in and not play Jefferson unless it looks like Lee is struggling.
:geaux: Unfortunately, I think JJ will get the start. :rolleye33: Just hopin' J. Lee comes in early and plays a lot since he'll give us the best chance to win this one, IMO. :LSU231:
