I coached Pat three years ago on a 16 year old Babe Ruth team that went to two World Series. He was the only 15 year old on the team and he could really bring it. Good kid.

To answer your question, we oversigned, so there isn't really another scholarship because he opted out. These are letters of intent, not scholarships. We just have to trust coach to work it out with the players, some will not make the grades, some could go juco, some could greyshirt (not play till next Jan), and some could use TOPS. I'm no expert, this is just what I have picked up by reading lately.
Exactly right and Saban said yesterday that all of the players knew what their future was, which ones were going to come in the fall and which ones were going to wait till January, etc. He isn't going to surprise any of them at this point, which is very important.
