Every recruiting season it seems like on the last day we get an unplanned addition that nobody predicted. And we also often get a last-minute defection from a long-standing committment. Any clues on wavering commits, Parso? How about stealthy new commits?
A lot of people wouldn't be surprised if Jarvis Jones went elsewhere since he is a soft commit and his mother has made him go on other visits. But he told the OU scout guy he is still strong to LSU. The only surprise signee I think we could possibly get, especially with the numbers crunched, would Devine. And he won't play at a D-1 school next year unless a miracle happens.
Well it will probably come from our top three targets: McKnight, Tolliver, Jones. Hopefully we get all 3 but who knows what can happen.
I'm not sure those would be considered surprises with LSU being at the top of their list from the start. IMO...Barksdale is our surprise recruit for 2007. That's one kid we stole from the North.
Barksdale was a definite suprise for this recruiting class. As for any late suprises yet to happen, it seems to usually happen with a recruit that Rivals & Scout haven't paid very close attention to for LSU because they think they are higher on other programs. Maybe a Rishad Mason or somebody else that is taking a late official to us but we haven't heard much on... not sure who it could be right now. I wouldn't be entirely suprised to see a LB pop up though. As for defections, Sonny mentioned one of our long-standing commitments that Saban is hard after that may be listening a bit more than some of our other commits. I won't say the name, but I don't think fans would be too upset if it were to happen. Phelon appears to be very solid to LSU still though despite a recent in-home visit from Saban.
if there are gonna be any so called surprise I think it would be dez bryant and the surprise would be he actually makes it into school.
Sure was to me too. USCvball sent me a message telling me congratulations and I didn't even know who he was. I had to hit a search on him. Was excited after I read about him. :thumb:
Wait? I thought Phelon said "no" to Saban's request for an in-home visit and that Saban just went to Phelon's high school?
