I wouldn't be too upset if USC was put into the #1 spot because they did look pretty awesome on bothsides of the ball against a D1 school even if they aren't very good.

I'm surprised Ga Southern scored 21pts and I think the media is too.

So I won't be suprised if USC is #1 but I think it will be hypocritical if they bump UGA out of the spot. Because if the roles were reversed the AP wouldn't boot USC out of the top spot. It doesn't matter who blows out who and how close a USC game is, they never boot USC out of the top spot until they lose. Or it sure seems that way.

Buuuuut, USC looked pretty amazing. I sure hope Wells of OSU can get to 100% before the USC game.

    USC looked amazing...agreed.

    Against Virginia.

The thing is...EVERY top-ten team NOT from the ACC :hihi: looked great at least for a half. USC played its first-teamers well into the third quarter...trying to make a statement. If LSU, by contrast, had done that the App State score would have been something to the order of 75-0. Anyone who watched the games knows this and shouldn't change anything this early. Georgia will be number one until they come to Baton Rouge! :thumb:

You might think that they would use a little perspective regarding the stability of Georgia's non-conference home record under Richt. (25-0)

The score was 38-7 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Georgia used 3 different QBs. Cox was put in the game in the 2nd quarter and Stafford still had 200+ yards in the air at the half. Moreno had 3 TDs by halftime and left the game.

Then Richt put in a ton of kids coming into a game situation for the first time.

    Or...

"Georgia's win snapped a three-game losing streak of teams ranked No. 1 in the AP poll."

The AP should leave Georgia alone until somebody steps up and beats Georgia on the field.

No, but we did gain a ton of votes. And we did take over the #1 spot while USC was still undefeated.

Thanks. The University has been pretty quiet, with all athlete attitude awfully positive (just sorta wound up typing it that way...). Tress has his weekly presser tomorrow, and we should have some more information then. Pics of him on the sideline and his cast make it look like it may be a toe dislocation. nothing broken, but just sorta popped out.

UGA was #1 in preseason because they killed Hawaii last year. Florida proved that any of the top teams in the SEC can crush Hawaii.
