Does anyone know for sure that it had a "Color" barrier, or is that speculation. Maybe to this point the deserving recipient has only been white, based on what the requirements are. A player that sets himself apart as having the Biggest Heart of a Tiger.
Yeah probably this. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it started out as an innocent inside joke ala the "White Power" facebook group Bruce Matthews/Brian Cushing had. There is a sort of "brothership" if you will on football teams between the white players, because in most cases they are the minority in locker rooms. I was one of 4 white guys on my high school football team, and we would always joke that "us white guys have to stick together." Anyone who has ever played should acknowledge that the issue of race does get brought up a lot on the field and in the locker room. Not that I think it was deliberately racist to start, just a "carry on the legacy" kind of thing between players who happened to be white.
I was thinking Stevan Ridley. It will be interesting to see how much PT Murphy gets. Hope his rehab is going well. Would be awesome to see him light it up like he did in the Spring Game two years ago.
sweet! wonder how superstitious these guys are about their numbers. in High School, i was rather attached to #3 don't know how i would have reacted to having to change it
26 is moderately lame on the number scale (Unless he was a big Deuce fan). 18 is a lateral move prestige wise at most places, not at LSU obviously. I'm sure he's thrilled and honored to be asked change his number, and it's not like he had a great one to begin with.
