Cholly Mac. My granfather got my older brothers and I season (student) tickets at the age of 6 in 1969. The tickets were in the SE endzone and were $3 a piece per game. We still have his seats on 35.

Was a die hard until the late 70s early 80's b/c my brother went to Tulane and played MLB for them. They went 3 for 4 against LSU while he was there including the 48-7 LSU loss. I was going to LSU at the time. None of my friends would talk to me.

Came back in to the fold after he graduated. Blood is thicker than water guys.

Just moved back to BR two years ago and make every game (home and away) that I can. Have daughters and bring them to the games as well.

Let me put this into some perspective here.
I've known of all the LSU coaches from Charlie Mac on but I didn't start watching LSU football religiously until Mike Archer and the Earthquake game.
The Earthquake game, the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium even from my own tv, my home state, the drama sold me on LSU forever.
Remember that I said religiously, I still followed on earlier occasions at times.
I probably have most Tiger Rags from the early 80's if not some from the 70's.

My dad always watched all the games but I wasn't as interested in sports until I was a teenager or until probably 1980.
We lived out of state but we would come back and go to some of the football games, earliest one that I actually remember was playing Wake Forest at home, very rainy and wet!!

Chollie Mac: I was aware of the Tigers and watched games with my Dad in the late 70's. Attended my first game in '81, vs Oregon State.

Darkness you speak of, clouded by pain your memories are, forget them you must.

Cholley Mac. My first memory was watching the '66 Cotton Bowl upset over Arkansas on TV. My first TS game was a blowout over Baylor by the great '69 team.

    Stovall, 1983.

My first game attended was the 40-35 loss to FSU... Got my picture in the Daily Reveille on the front page right after this game -- was a shot of the crowd.

Even with the loss, and ultimately a 4-7 record (0-6 SEC!), I was forever destined to bleed purple and gold! The atmosphere, Tiger Stadium, everything connected to the game -- what can I say?!

The first game I remember watching was LSU blowing the big lead against Auburn in 94 under Curley. I was only like 6 but man that pissed me off.

Not a good start, but thats okay.
