I was there- fever, cough drops and a black lung style cough in tow

It was amazing. I'm so grateful that I was able to go to the game. We had tickets to the last NC, but we could not reschedule our honeymoon so we were unable to make it...

The crowd was great. The atmosphere was electric. I'll admit that it was quiet as hell while it was 10-0, but it got rowdy real quick after the field goal.

Dorsey would point to the crowd to get everyone on their feet. When the big guy points for you to get up-you do it.

It's something I'll always remember. I'm so grateful to have been given the opportunity to go to the game.

ETA: The OSU fans that I met were all really nice and all said they were having a great time. One girl walks up to my husband and I and mumbles "Let's do this sh**" I was like what? Are we going to have a rumble Ponyboy style? Then her friend slurrs "You guyfsss arrre the nifest peeoples everrr. We have good time here." then shakes my husband's hand. Come to find out the girl had had 6 Hurricanes by that time...and it was only 2:00PM! I didnt say it, but I was like you and your toilet are going to become best friends very soon. Good luck with all that.

Best experience of my life. Pregame was greater than any other I have been a part of.

    For the actual game: frustrating.

The Super Dome sucks. I cannot say how many plays I was unable to watch because of the replay screen. At least 1/3 of the plays were not shown on the screen until the replay (and the replay would last through the next play, creating a vicious cycle). The band was seated on the floor of course, and the reaction of the crowd is what make me realize what was happening.

For example, OSU's field goal. I heard the ball being kicked, but I didn't see it go near the uprights and the LSU section cheered.

It was definitely worth it to be on the field for Pregame though.

Man I would have given a "lung" almost to have gone:hihi: I remember going to all those games in old Tiger stadium all the great players. I always was horse for a day or so later. You guys were so lucky, glad you all had a great time. But I watched it alone with the wife on my Big screen. kept running back and forth to the PC during commercials:rofl:

Was there. I enjoyed this one more than the last. Buckeye fans were great. Kinda like the Iowa fans we met a few years. So much better of a fan base than the Sooners were.
Will post up some photos tomorrow.

I was there...but I have a lot more to say than the posters so far...so bear with me.

I saw Corso about 30 minutes before we entered the 'Dome...he was climbing the stairs heading up to their stage. A lot of Tiger fans were talking to him...and one says "Hey Lou!"...yep, he called him "Lou" ..."put on that Tiger head"! "Lou" says "Geaux Buckeyes"!! He was booed intensely!:thumb:

About 30 seconds later, Coach Dinardeaux stepped out of a cab in front of me...and I said "Hey Coach". He said "How ya' doing"...and that was that.

I wanted to be in my seat for warmups, and definitely pre-game...so we headed in, ate some jambalaya, and settled in for the festivities. The pre-game was AWESOME, IMHO. My seats were MUCH better than I thought they would be, and I thoroughly enjoyed TBDBITL...Script Ohio was great. Kudos to them. Of course, TGBFTL NEVER fails to give me goosebumps...and they were awesome as well. Long before the teams came through the tunnel, I LITERALLY found myself near tears...just at the thought of what I was about to witness!:bncry: (Tears of joy, I assure you!)

You all saw the game, so I'll not give play by play...but the crowd was incredible. As you surely know, it was a record for the 'Dome...I tried to find an empty seat with my binos, and I never could.

There was a girl in front of me that had an incredible rear end...my buddy kept telling me I had the "best seat in the house", but I assured him SHE had "the best SEAT in the house". There were 4 young OSU guys...probably college age...seated to our left...and it was ALL LSU to our right. There was an OSU couple two rows in front of us...in front of Ms. Incredibutt.:) The young guys to our left were pretty much out of it by halftime, but the couple were diehard tOSU fans...and I took the opportunity as they were leaving after the game to tell them they were good fans...never gave up hope. They said they just wished the could've kept it closer, but they enjoyed the experience overall.

We stayed for the trophy presentation, and all the hoopla. I took literally about 100 pics, and I will post them probably Thursday...it not tomorrow night. I have a pic of Corso climbing up to the stage, and a pic of my buddy's dad with "Buckeye Guy"...the black guy that wears the huge cowboy hat...all decked out in OSU colors. Most of my pics are of the band formations, and of course a couple of the Golden Girls in their sailor suits!

I can say this...I would not trade anything for the experience that was the BCSNCG. I didn't think it would mean so much to me, but it was absolutely incredible!!

I was there pre game and post game with 50 yard line seats, it was incredible for lack of a better term.

Truth to be told - I thought the Florida game ( from an attendance perspective ) was a better game to be at.

    Great game, Tigers.

Let me start my story by saying that the experience of going to the national championship was tremendous. I enjoyed every second of being inside the Superdome.

As most of you know, I am still a student at LSU. This has been my final season as a student of the greatest university in the land. I have been to all of the games, home and away. I went to all of the bonus priority point events just to ensure that I would get tickets to the bowl game, whatever it may be. I love LSU like nothing else.

That said, the ticket pickup for the students completely and utterly sucked. It was hard for me to think about the game itself leading up to this week because I became more and more stressed about picking up the tickets and missing out on the fun of tailgating before the game. You see, LSU, out of fear that the students might scalp their tickets, decided that the students should only get one opportunity to pick up their tickets, and that would be the day of the game (when normally they start allowing us to pick them up either the week of, or even the night before the game). This is a concern that Ohio State did not seem to have, allowing their students to pick up their tickets some two weeks ago. Little did I know that it would turn out to be a lot worse than I had imagined.

LSU sent out an email to the students saying that the student ticket pickup would begin at noon. They also said that no camping out would be allowed outside of the dome and that we could not begin to line up until 7 a.m. The sooner you get there, the better your tickets are, so naturally you want to be there as early as possible. Also, if you want to sit with a friend, they have to get their tickets at the same time that you get yours. Another thing to keep in mind that there are two THOUSAND student tickets to give out. I arrived at the dome approximately 6:30. When I started walking around, I saw students lining up on a ramp that leads up to the area just outside of where the ticket pickup area was. There was a security person there with a radio telling the students that if they step up onto this area that they would be trespassing. The security person walked away and at 6:45, suddenly everyone bolted from the ramps to Gate B, which is where the ticket pickup window was located. Mass hysteria broke out when a giant mass of students started running from another direction. In the rush, everyone got as close to the ticket area as possible, to claim their spot, thus leaving hardly any room for people to stand. There was nothing set up there that would indicate that ANYTHING was planned out. There were no barricades set up, no one on site to monitor what was going on, nothing. More and more people kept showing up throughout the day. I can not even begin to describe how many people were there. In fact, there were so many people there that the line split and began going in both directions, effectively taking over the entire part outside of the Superdome.

After a couple of hours of just standing (and I do stress standing, since there was absolutely no room to sit or even lean on anything) in line at approximately 8:40, a truck pulling a trailer that was headed for the fanfest (which was being set up on top of the parking garage right next to gate B) attempted to drive through the crowd. After realizing that it would not work, the truck turned around and went the opposite direction. Now, being stuck in the crowd of people causes a lot of heat to be given off. Couple this with the early morning and the sun now beginning to be in its full glory, there were some pretty agitated people. Twenty minutes after the truck first to cut through, someone representing the Superdome arrived with two New Orleans police officers, both in their patrol cars. The cars began to force people out of the way, to drive a wedge in between all of the people. This forced some people to become angry as they had effectively lost their place in line and the police officers did not care. The police officers forced their way in and did not direct the students to move in any particular direction, or give ANY direction at all. Because of this, everyone pushed forward towards the ticket office, rather than push out and maximize the space. We were literally being stacked on top of each other, having to lean on the person in front of the other just to maintain balance. We hoped that this was just temporary, as words cannot describe how uncomfortable and unbelievable this was. But, that was soon put to rest when the police officers put barricades behind us, thus squeezing us in. The police left after that, after offering no words to us as to what was going on. We were all left literally on top of each other. Trucks started coming through and setting up for the fanfest. I'm not over exaggerating when I say that we could not move... at all.

Well, I guess someone contacted the people at LSU because they opened the ticket windows at 11:15 rather than 12. This caused people to rapidly push (and I do mean PUSH) forward even more. Not only were people pushing forward, but the people that were to the side of the line were also pushing in. Now, at the ticket windows they have railings there. So even after you got to the window and received your tickets, you had nowhere to go. You had to literally push people out of the way and jump over the railings, which is what I had to do. I could not see where I was landing and I came down directly on top of a beer bottle that shattered. Luckily, no one was injured, as far as I know. Because of the panic and gigantic crowd, some people lost their friends and thus were unable to sit with them at the game because they had to get their tickets at separate times.

Tell me, why did this have to happen? Was it really to prevent me from scalping my ticket? I received mine probably right at noon. That would have left me with roughly seven hours to sell it to anyone I wished (but of course I did not sell either of my tickets). Why is it that we did not receive the tickets sooner like the Ohio State students or even had some sort of logical setup to prevent the mass hysteria? Is it because we are just students and not big time boosters that can afford to donate tons and tons of money?

My words really cannot describe how terrible, miserable, and poorly planned this was. I say again, though, that I love LSU and the LSU tigers. I support this team and school as much as I possibly can. I'm just extremely disappointed in how all of this was handled. I was seriously shocked that no one was injured as far as I know as well as finding it surprising that no fights broke out. It was extremely unorganized and all of the students felt mistreated as well as forgotten about.

I know some students took video and have better pictures than I do. These pictures really do not do justice as to how terrible the experience was and just how squished together everyone was. But here are a few shots that I took:

I have given thought to emailing this story to the LSU athletic office, the Superdome, the Advocate, and the Reveille. What does everyone think?

Everything else, however was great. The atmosphere was electric and the Ohio State people were good, too.
