Who should start against the Anteaters?

Do you risk not starting Ranaudo and maybe losing?

Do you start him and maybe not have the ace ready for UCLA?

    Decisions, decisions.

good question, and this is where mainieri earns his pay. i have been thinking about it because you obviously have to win the first game to get to play ucla in the second game.

if alsup and ross throw like they did this past weekend, i think we would do ok holding ar till saturday. but there are no guarantees they will.

i have gone back and forth and still dont know what i would do if i were cpm.
except hope ucla gets complacent and kent pulls the upset. :hihi:

UCLA has a 1,250 seat park, so I think I'd go with Alsup, maybe and just hope he wouldn't get rattled. Honestly, I have no idea.

    I vote Ross.

    How is Ranaudo's spiked hand?

alsup or ross (though i voted ross.) it's the point in the season where you have to go with who has been hot (which has pretty much been everyone.) if our pitching continues like it did at hoover, alsup or ross will get the job done. really i don't think it matters who we start -- they've all been good. i was hoping that we would have played a couple more games in the tourney to see matulis or bourgeois. but b/w ranaudo, ross, alup and bradshaw -- if those guys stay consistent, we'll be in good shape. the hitting has to continue too.

i still cant get past that. :rolleye33:

but on the topic, i was thinking ross. or ranaudo. or ross...

for the first time in quite a while, i think that we are ok with our starters. (as long as they keep throwing the way they did in the sect.) and even if the starter gets rattled, we have matulis and rittiner also who could come in. not to mention bert in later innings.

it is still ott that worries the hell out of me.

as far as starters... hell, i dont know. i guess i need to look at the uc irvine stats.

he said it was fine when kyle peterson and dave neal were talking to him after the dogpile. but he was grimacing and yelling "fuk, fuk, fuk" at the time when leon stepped on it. :hihi:

I guess the question becomes... Say Ross starts and has a rough go of it, but the team stays in the ballgame, do you then use Ranaudo?

Would you give him the Louis Coleman status?

    I voted Ranaudo.

I think we need to get off to a fast start and ride his wave.
