I have been pretty consistent in my views about a college QB. You do not need an All American – Do Everything QB in college to win a BCS NC. You need a smart, semi mobile QB with a decent arm that can get the ball to the athletes that surrounds him. (I hate when they constantly throw balls behinds receivers versus hitting them in stride. Our receivers are so talented we should have a ton of YACs). I have to believe if Crowton recruited Hatch for BYU’s offense that he can throw the ball. If he got into Harvard he should have a decent head on his shoulder. Lee was a top rated QB recruit out of Texas. Talent wise he should be fine. Not sure about his football smarts, but believe from what I heard around BR that his has good football smarts. RP seems to have all the tools. He proved last year he can get the ball to the athletes and win games. My concern all along with RP (football wise) is if he was going to try to do too much during a game. That macho bravado attitude he came to school with may have led me to that opinion.
in order to show that i am impartial, i think we need to stop hijacking the thread. so, who's gonna start at qb next year? and i blame luvinles for starting this hijack anyway. :hihi:
Assuming RP somehow isn't there....and I still think this is a big assumption... I predict Les will give Hatch a chance, but will end up giving Lee the job by the SEC schedule. I doubt Hatch has Lee's natural ability, but I have no way of actually KNOWING that...
Yeah, welcome aboard, I luv u in a non-gay way. Now, in response to your post.........NEITHER of them. REMEMBER, this is LSU. Our fans EXPECT nothing less than competeing in the SEC championship game and a helluva lot expect to challenge for a repeat of the Nat'l Championship again. Our fans are rabid and Les knows this. Ryan has been given chances and will be given another. Albeit, in another time and another place, he may be looking to play in Hawaii on FSN midnite broadcasts. LSU fans and supporters WILL NOT allow this. RP has the talent to be a superstar and win another NC game for LSU. HE WILL PLAY. Will he screw up again? I certainly hope not. But make no mistake about it, he hasn't screwed up bad enough to be locked up, hence he'll be our QB.. View attachment 10605
