Re: WHO SHOULD START.... I don't think it makes a lot of difference. Neither is ready to lead this team to victory against a good defensive team. JJ looks more poised and has more options with his speed and ability to escape and run out of trouble. Both are limited in the plays they can execute efficiently. JJ has looked great when he takes the field but once the defensive coach of the opposition recognizes his limits he changes his scheme and shuts us down. Wasn't Ar-Kansas' defense rated about 80th best in the NCAA. Lee is so erratic that noone can figure his capabilities. If healthy, both will probably play then we can choose sides. I hope one or both is ready next September.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... Me too but Miles isnt impressing me a bit by waiting until the season was so on the rocks to play him. At this point I would REALLY question Mile's statement that JJ made such HUGE improvments in two weeks practice by just getting reps. if that was the case then the fault is STILL on MIles for NOT recognizing the Boys talent and giving him reps to begin with. It makes me thing he will play the guy with the most time in regardless of the talent. that might have worked for Bear Bryant who had 3 and 4th string players that could start anywhere else, but in todays league you PLAY who is BEST not who you LIKE and who has the MOST senority.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... apparently you arent watching the game. JJ does fakes better, he rolls out better, he doesnt stare receivers down, he RUNS MY GOD A QB that CAN RUN. he can throw and RUN. He threw SEVERAL crossing routes the SAME as LEE and I think a couple were complete. Lee's were PICK SIXES. Lee had to throw to the perimeter to make sure it wasnt picked off. the reason the offense got PREDICTable wasnt JJ it was our sucky play calling. We werent doing crap up the middle all night long but they kept calling that up the gut. We did MUCH better to the outside. We had enough to win this game. See 2nd Qtr. We got WAY too conservative once we got a lead.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... JJ is a better QB ATM than JL. He brings more to the offense with his mobility, plus I noticed he progresses through his receiver reads. Something JL has struggled with(as all young QBs do). Which brings me to, I think JJ has a bright future seeing as how fast hes already progressing.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... JJ is a baller no doubt. He's got the poise.. the confidence.. the ability.. and the instincts. He could seriously be great. I was on the J. Lee bus the entire time.. but JJ just looks leagues ahead of him.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... Me too, but man.... that pass where he hit Lafell after faking a look to his left... How long did it take Jamarcus to learn not to stare down his receivers? Impressive for a freshman QB making his first start.... and really only his second game of serious PT.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... I was sold when I saw him make that pitch for a TD that got called back because his knee touched. He's got "it".
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... JJ earned a start in the bowl game. He looks better than Lee in every way as far as I can tell. MUCH better... If he starts Lee, he will basically be lighting his seat on fire going into next year. I hope he's not that stupid.
Re: WHO SHOULD START.... Even then, he didn't do it until Lee was too hurt to play. I agree. Unlike Lee, who wimped out against Alabama on that 3rd and 2 play where he just threw it up in the air after "scrambling," JJ isn't afraid to hit or get hit. Did you see the blocks he was throwing? The guy is a leader and hopefully a Tiger legend in the making.
