There is a poll on cbssports.com asking who the fans think should be #2. As of now it's 66% OKST. Just thought it was interesting getting an idea of what others think.
I hope these polls mean something to these voters. The fans want someone else to face LSU. A great offense to face LSU's defense.
It's b/c the majority of college fball fans do not want to see another defensive slug fest (I personally thought that was one of the best games I've seen in my lifetime) & also their hatred & jealousy for the SEC. To be honest, we all know that LSU is clearly #1, & bama is clearly #2. However, with Okie St. stomping OU tonight & bama being idle, it very well may be Okie St. playing LSU for the crystal.
I agree, but I would add that a lot of these people also want to see if someone else can beat LSU. It's not a matter of anyone beating LSU. LSU has beaten everyone and people recognize this. Many of them figure, "give the Big-12 a shot if they have a quality opponent/champ", which they do. If the shoes were reversed between us and Bama, they would still be calling for OSU to face the SEC champ. We'd be out in the cold. That's the BCS. BTW, the CBS poll is now 72-28% in favor of OSU.
its funny how the perfect strom seems to always hit the BCS VT needed to lose Nick Saban needed to be Nick Saban OSU needed to roll OU It all happened and now I must say I did not see how enough voters could come off Bama to OSU but now it could happen.. It will be very close and all Bama folk need to be worried - very worried !:hihi:
"If we don't get in the BCS, I'm not kidding you, if I have the power to do it, I'm going to have an investigation," Pickens, 83, said with a chuckle. "After the way we handled OU tonight, somehow, I can't imagine LSU playing Alabama twice. It doesn't make sense. It looks like it's an SEC closed system if that happens, and Alabama didn't even win the conference. Here we are. I think we are the ones who will play LSU, and for all the right reasons." Alabama fans stake a powerful argument. They lost in overtime to LSU, 9-6, on Nov. 5. The Cowboys lost, 37-31, at Iowa State, a .500 team, on Nov. 18. They have plenty of other debate points. The university sent out an email at 1:03 a.m., ET, Sunday, making its case: a 5-2 edge over Alabama in wins against the current Top 25; a 7-3 edge in wins over bowl-bound teams.
it's a bogus argument and everybody-not-wearing-crimson understands .... if it's a lsu-bama mnc matchup, i predict it will be one of the lowest rated games of the BCSC era among the viewing public. OSU demolished OU on the way to their conference championship in the 2nd ranked conference. it has nothing to do with the low-scoring defensive outcome from the LSU-bama game during the regular season. There are a lot of fans (me included) that LOVE a defensive contest .... but I don't love it more than my integrity.
