Saban did not bring a in a QB in 2004, but he did bring in Flynn and Russell in 2003. I think it was a combination of: 2004 - no QB 2005 - RP only 2006 - no QB 2007 - Lee only 2008 - JJ only
maybe not. but seems we have had a couple of gaps. one between flynn and rp, and then again between rp and jj/jl. all the way around, we just werent real set at qb. add to that what appears to be jj and jl not being developed well and it bit us in the butt.
Darron Thomas, he played in 2008 with minimal stats and didnt play this year. I suspect they red-shirted him.
Remember how good it felt rubbing it in UT's face that Perrilloux was coming to LSU. Damn you Ryan Perrilloux, why didn't you just go to Texas.
Why do you think his job is in jeapordy? Just because a rabid and clueless fanbase says he should go doesn't mean squat. I for one figured on 2 losses, maybe 3, this season as did most others. In fact Im happy he is here
I can sum of this thread for anyone who hasn't read it. No, RP, one person doesn't make a team good or bad. If that is the case its bad recruiting and coaching. In this case I do think it is bad recruiting and bad coaching. It was bad coaching to leave JL as long as CLM's did last year. Crowton seems to be able to have only a certain type of QB for his system? Why in the hell would you recruit a QB that isn't his type? How can a coach be any good if he can only be successful with one type of player? I believe offenses should be simplified, I believe in old fashioned smash mouth football mixed in with a few play action passes and good defense.
