i have brought up before the no qb between flynn and rp, and was reminded there was one (cant remember his name right now) that transferred to tulane.

why the transfer? why were we left without anyone after flynn before miles brought in rp?

i think people are putting too much into RP getting kicked off the team. true, he was a bad apple and had to be let go. true, he left us without much talent at QB, but Lee was a great prospect out of high school as was jefferson. it is ultimately the coaching staff's fault for not having a viable backup QB, and developing them properly. you can't put all of your eggs into one basket, and you HAVE to be able to develop the players you DO have. you can't tell me that jefferson (or lee) are less talented than all of the other QBs in the conference. you just can't. it's the OC and, ultimately, the HC fault.

this i agree with. and a big part of the reason i think crowton needs to go.

i dont think who we do have were developed as well as they could have been.

I think the mistake was no QB in 2006, and only Jarret Lee in 2007. Followed by only JJ in 2008. Anyone remember we had two other QB commits we could not hold onto after JJ commited? We needed at least one to stick.

The only QB I can remember that was a transfer to tulame would be Lester Ricard??? I'm not sure if he was ever even on the LSU team. Either way, I don't think he would have been the answer for the RP debacle.

My knock against Miles in the whole RP situation was that he didn't act soon enough to get rid of him. I know he was trying to give him a second (and a third, and a fourth...) chance, but he was a cancer on the team discipline wise and I always thought Miles should have cut him loose sooner. Nobody could have known that JL and JJ would not be more developed thatn they are, they were top prospects. They'll just have to man up and lead the team, that's what they're getting paid... err... scholarchips to do. It will be tough on them but we have no better options.

I did not actually mean transfer. I meant commit that did not sign and committed elsewhere. We had two before JJ committed and they flew the coup.
