"FELLAS, LET'S HANG FIFTY ON THESE GUYS AND GET LOST."

Steve Spurrier, 1997, to his players as they arrived at Ryan Airport in Baton Rouge to play LSU in Death Valley.

    JOHNNY VAUGHT / OLE MISS

    WON LOST
    ALABAMA 2 5
    AUBURN 4 3
    FLORIDA 4 2
    GEORGIA 4 3
    KENTUCKY 17 6
    LSU 15 8
    MSU 19 2
    TENNESSEE 13 7
    VANDY 16 4
    ARKANSAS 9 4
    SOUTH CAROLINA 1 0

ARKANSAS AND USC were not in the SEC at that time. Also the reason for the single digit wins / double digit wins is that LSU, MSU, TENN, VANDY, KENTUCKY were the regular teams the Rebs played each year. The East/West divisions came much later. Also only ten games a year.
