Jeff Goodman, over at Fox Sports, likes Grant. http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/goodmanonfox/2008/01/25/LSUS_NEXT_COACH
check cal's resume of his first several years at Memphis. not that great. fans would have to be willing to wait out several ho hum years. go for the best hc at a lower level program that can recruit, and pay him half of what cjb makes.
1. Cal had a lot of rebuilding to do, to a program that was overall in far greater shambels than LSU's 2. Cal gets outcoached quite a bit, but is in the right situation, here in Memphis. I agree there are far better coaches to run the LSU program and make it successful.
Anyone else notice that there was yet another game last night and we have not typed a single word about it. That is yet another example of how bad Brady has team. I bet even last year, there were at least a thread on almost every game last year.
we lost a lot of games last year too. 15 i think. Thats 13 more threads than this year so far. I am counting the 2 fire brady threads as BBall threads.
It's not like Memphis was a powerhouse before he got there...He completely turned around that program and that doesn't happen overnight. He ain't coming here since he's more comfortable coaching in a mid major conference where he won't have tough competion...He did it at UMASS (A-10) and is doing it now in Memphis (Conf USA), which used to be a pretty good basketball conference but lost its best teams to the Big East (Marquette, Cincy, Louisville and I think DePaul).
the announcers of that game were pretty sympathetic to Brady. Evidently they talked before hand and Brady's take was a "what can I do?/feel sorry for me" approach. And they did. They were probably being nice b/c they can see the writing on the wall too.
