Not sure where you're disagreeing here. I said "physically" is NOT TT's problem. That said, he is the number 2 receiver at this time...MIGHT still be at the end of the season...and probably will be next season too. I'm saying Lafell is number 1, and RR may overtake TT this year. I never said anyone was a better physical speciman that TT...again...not concerned about physical. They are ALL physically gifted...and RR is a natural.
I can't see Randle redshirting, but would he really take over as the #2 during the season? I've yet to see him play, so I don't have much to go on, but I think this year will be Toliver's time to shine and he will be an easy target for Jordan Jefferson. There's also the fact that there is a learning curve for Randle before he can reach some of his potential. I can see Randle taking over next year as #1, much like Julio Jones is definitely the #1 in Alabama, but last year wasn't the #1 option in the passing game for much of the time. Also, I think it should be duly noted that Richard Dickson will at least be the #2 target in the passing game, so in order for Randle to be the #2 option he will have to pass Toliver and either Lafell or Dickson. Also, is it that far off that Ford will redshirt if Dugas fills at FB? This would allow for Ridley and Allen to take snaps at HB in mop up duty in preparation for next year, and it seems like Miles likes Allen.
First of all, I never said Randle would be the #2 "target"...I said WR...and I fully believe he is that much better than TT. JOMO. We'll know soon enough. - Secondly, I don't think Ford redshirts for a couple of reasons...in order- 1)You don't redshirt RBs if you wanna get any next year. - 2)He doesn't need to. There isn't that much of a learning curve for RBs...just don't fumble, and block that guy coming after the QB. He probably wouldn't be in there this year in obvious passing situations where the opposition would bring the house. He can learn to pick up the blitz in practice as the year goes on by watching the other guys. So all he has to do is not fumble.
Ok, I thought by "#2 guy" you meant target. It's not a stretch that he will be the #2 WR, I agree. As far as a RS for Ford, I think it just benefits the team because as of now, Lache Seastrunk is not committed and neither is Storm Johnson, so I'm thinking for the future because nothing is certain. I think using him this year benefits us very little because he'll only be used in mop up duties unless Scott or Williams gets hurt. I'd rather leave him with 4 years of fresh eligibility for the future unless we lock up Lache or another solid RB.
Im very excited about Mo Claiborne, Miles seems to be very high on this kid. What should I expect out of him? Redshirt or Special Teams. Dude is running with the Varsity DBs already, is he really that good?
He is looking very good at WR, don't think he has got much work in at DB yet but maybe a little. Still needs to add weight so I could see him getting a redshirt still.
