Who (LSU player) are you pulling for to have a great year in 2007?

I see it a little different. Flynn does not have to have a incredible year for us to make it to a SEC or NC game. Not with all the athletes on the offense this year. It is more on Crowton to make sure he doesnt put Flynn in positions he is not successful at. Little touch passes and giving the WR/RBs the opportunity to get some open field will be key this year. All we need is a little of what Mauck brought to the table. Flynn is already one of the team leaders and comfortable with the system. Crowton just has to keep it that way. LSU is going to be difficult to prepare for next year because of all the options we have. Misdirection and different packages to keep the defense on their heels. In no way do I see it all up to Flynn.

To me it wont be a breakout season if he performs up to the potential we know he has. I expect him to be smart and successful in the offense this season. He is a senior and has shown us his stuff before. Also if for some reason he has some difficulties with the offense and another QB has to pick up some slack, I wouldnt say the season is doomed. We have 2 guys who can step up when needed and Crowton is an excellent OC that maximizes his talent at the QB position no matter how many QBs he used during the previous years as a OC and QB coach.

He doesn't have to win the heisman. But he does have to keep everything together. Crowtons offense is a very difficult read and react on the part of the quarterback and at times the backs and receivers. If he can't run it sucessfully we are screwed. RP may not come back, and even if he does he is just not reliable. Lee is a true freshman. Our best option after Flynn at this point apears to be the 9th year walk on senior Jimmy Welker, and that is not something I find comforting.

Flynn has to get it done.

I agree with you about the offensive system. But I am not too worried because of the head Flynn has on his shoulders.

Based on what I have been hearing RP will be back and is doing everything and then some to please Miles and his teammates. I know he doesnt have much playing experience but guys around the team on a daily basis are very impressed with what RP brings to the table during practice, etc.. However, you are right that there will always be a cloud over his head and worry about his future off the field. I am pulling for him to change that reputation by starting from scratch and not looking back.

I dont think you are giving Lee is due either in that respect. Sure he is a freshman but a very talented one that catches on quick, uses his feet at the right moments, and gets the ball out of his hands quicker than anyone I have seen recently. That is what Crowton loves about him. I seriously doubt we will ever see Welker touch the field in his career at LSU.

I am more concerned with the Oline providing the protection the QBs need to succeed over the coarse of the year. One benefit that Crowton brings to the offense that will help the oline out his the high pace of the offense. Olineman will not have to protect the QB as long as in years past based on what I am hearing.

Chevis, Zenon, and the "hammer" bros at safety: Coleman, Taylor and McCray.

Plus all the freshmen, because that let's us know Les got us some studs.

Our entire starting OLine. And I don't care that this is more than one person. It is the one vital thing we need to be better, earlier, and stay healthy longer, to insure victory this year. We are deep at the skill positions and any 1-2 QBs, WRs, or RBs can have break out years, if the OLine performs. As the depth is not what we might like, you may all want to pray for healthy guys and exceptional play here.

Hmm... I'd say probably Flynn.. Always nice to see a senior go out with a bang. Also, as patient and dedicated as he's been, he gets his start.. now's his time... They make movies about this kind of stuff, folks..

Defensively... well.. I think we'll be fine on that side of the ball because they're all going to have a great year. I like Dorsey though.. Since he opted to stay it out in the bayou, I'd like to see it really pay off for him..

This season's going to be quite a show I think.

On offense, I hope that Flynn and Alley B. both have great years. They both could have easily transferred but they stayed loyal to LSU.

On defense, Steltz. He is very underated and he will shine this year.

I want to see Flynn/Doucet become the next Davey/Reed. That would really open up our run game.
