I really am pulling for Alley Broussard to come back and have a great year. I have always liked him since he got to LSU. Early his freshman year, I thought he was better than Vincent, but could not argue that Vincent became the star after midseason. Alley's soph season, I thought he was the best back on the team, better than Addai, who obviously is a very good back. Alley had 2 rough years since. I hope he has a great Sr. campaign. I think he's from my old stomping ground, around Lafayette, I like that also.

On defense, I really like Beckwith at LB. He seems to cover the field the best of the LB. I like mobile LB.

I want Ryan P. to get out of the doghouse soon. Want to see him working out with the team.

Who do you have your eye on?

While I am a big fan of AB and i would love to see him have a breakout year.....I think the player i'd LOVE to see have a GREAT year would be Matt Flynn. In my opinion if he has a great year we don't lose a game. The defense is there, I believe the "team" of RBs will get it done.....so to me if Matt Flynn has a "GREAT" year.....we don't lose a game and will be playing in the NC game in New Orleans!!!

Beckwith is at the top of my list along with RP, Taylor, and Richard Murphy.

Pardon me for disagreeing with people saying they'd like to see RP have a great year.... but the only reason I think RP gets significant playing time to have a "great" year is if MF has a bad start. To me that says early loses? I don't see how MF cant be the obvious vote for "player i wish has the best year"!! He's going to be our starter!

I know and respect that everyone has their own opinion and also has thier favorite player they'd like to see do good.......but I just think that MF should be a no-brainer for "player i'd like to see have a great year"....

I know there hasn't been much response to this thread as of yet and the MF vote may turn out to be the majority, but its late and i'm up........so i'm voicing my thoughts!!!:hihi: :hihi:

I understand your point but I know that MF is going to have a good year. I am very confident with him at the helm. However, RP will get his chance this year to get some reps that will be needed for next year if he continues to do everything Miles is asking him to do. If he stays out of trouble, he will see the field. I am also high on Lee and think he can produce if need be.

My point is that the backup QB needs to play well also in long, grinding season for a team be successful. And I see the point of this thread as the underdogs without the glory who need to step up into the spotlight some.

Taylor has been behind Landry his whole career and is needed in a big way to produce similar results. He watched and competed with one of the best during practice. I am pulling for Murphy because I feel this is going to be a breakout year for the young stud and I cant wait to see his progess for a few years. I am pulling for Beckwith because he is looked over by many because of Highsmith but I thnk Beckwith is the better LB overall. Highsmith has him beat on drop back pass coverage but Beckwith is fun to watch with that size and closing speed.

Alley is not really high on my list because of his past work habits and dedication to his team. I want to see every tiger do good in the starting and backup roles but it is hard for me to pick him over others who have been working so hard the past few years.

Simply considering the potential impact on LSU, I think the obvious answer is Matt Flynn. If he has a great season, we're heading to Atlanta for the SECCG for sure.

As for a sentimental favorite, I think it has to Alley Broussard for reasons mentioned, and Curtis Taylor who has been very under-the-radar for us, but got us commitments from two of his brothers.

I'm pulling for Flynn... He has paid his dues and then some... Unlike Broussard, who was a head case after his injury, or Doucet who has been up and down, Flynn has been the team player... THis guy could have left a few years ago and been starting at a AA or sat and started at another A school.. but he is a true Tiger and should have a great year...

Wow, this is an easy question to answer: Matt Flynn.

Great year by Flynn maximizes chances of an undefeated or 1-loss season. Mediocre to poor QB play makes such a season next to impossible.
