We all know there is a ton of talent in the "skill positions" on both sides of the line of scrimmage on this football team. Shepard, Tolliver, Randle, Murphy, Ridley, Ford, Jefferson. Peterson, Claiborne, Sheppard, Loston. I'm sure I left out at least a few others. Who do you think will have the BIGGEST year? And by that I mean, make the biggest impact, get the most national recognition, get the most deserved hype, etc. I'm going to go with Shep. Not just because he's so talented. But because I don't think Jefferson is ever going to be a great downfield passer, and I think Shep is going to get a lot of business as Jefferson learns to check down quickly and find Shep before the LB or Safety can get on him...and that is going to be some fun sh!t to watch. What do you think?
I like Deangelo Peterson. It seems like he and Jordan Jefferson clicked last year. Plus if he does line up at TE, he is a total mismatch for any safety or linebacker trying to cover, and he will overpower a corner.
Plenty of guys will have a breakout year. Ridley, Ford, Randle, Peterson, Claiborne, but you are right - it will be Shepard. He has been a media darling for 3 years now, and they want him to succeed as much as we do.
I know he's never taken a meaningful snap at LSU but I love Michael Ford. He broke a lot of the records at Leesville High School that had been previously set by some great backs in Eddie Fuller, Vincent Fuller and Cecil Collins. I honestly think he has the potential to be one of the best backs to come out of LSU. I know that's awfully strong words, but I asked Miles if Ford has the potential to be one of the best he's ever coached. Miles tried to be somewhat vague at first in his response by talking about what a physical specimen Ford is and that he is a workout fiend. But then he kept going on and on about Ford and his vision and burst through a opening as well as his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. In the end, Miles acknowledged that Ford is very special and has the potential to be one of the best ever at LSU. I do think that if he's given enough touches, Ford will be the main factor in some LSU victories this season.
Imagine him as a sophomore, with Hilliard and Hill backing him up. With the line Miles has/is assembling... Surfing is gonna be good dude...
Kelvin. Dude was never not on the play last year and he was just cuttin his teeth. I expect he will geaux certified pimp by mid season.
I felt that way about Randle. There were several occassions where JJ placed the ball perfectly for him and Rueben made a great snag. They just seemed to click. I think he's going to be the guy, primarily because he's sort of flying under the radar.
man, that pass in Baton Rouge against Auburn last season on the sideline, that happened right in front of us, it was sweet. i will never get tickets that good again.
I got to go with RS, he may be our golden boy and hopefully he makes JJ's life a lot easier, and Every Other SEC Defensive Cor. life miserable.!!
