Believe me, I know. That's why I started that line with "Not saying there is any comparison here...". I think we would have hung 35+ on WVU with a passing game. It just occurred to me that with JL under center, maybe Crowton would drop the stinking option since no one believes JL can run the ball. Possibly see some wildcat with Shep and Ridley back there. :geaux:
Let the two switch out. See who gets things rolling. Les doesn't have to throw anyone under the bus, jj can't say he was benched, jl doesn't have to go in behind the eight ball, crowton can run a wider play selection, defences have harder time game planning aginst us and noone has to admit fault at picking jj to start or jl to start if they both stink it up. Perfect choice. Those who want jj gets jj. Those who want jl gets jl. Easy choice.
I agree. I think we've seen enough out of JJ. He's not improving, and IMO, he still looks like a green freshman out there. It's time for Lee. It can't get much worse. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Seeing is Believing If the OC put JJ in the pistol more often he'd have more time to peruse the receiver patterns in development. And - a new idea! - don't let JJ throw to a receiver on 3rd+ for the first down unless the receiver is past the 1st down marker. Shhhh. Back in the late 50s and 60s the Tigers virtually used a dual QB system every year. For the most part it worked since we escaped having two bonehead QBs operating in the same year. It appears to many fans that the only boneheads (or hardheads if you like) we have now are CLM and GC as witnessed by the late 4th quarter three incompletions by JJ when Ridley was running well. :geaux:
Read the Guilbeau thread - first post. If Gilbeau is right....it definitely could get worse.... I still think we should risk it against Tennessee. But holy CRAP....
It could get worse. We could lose. I say stick with JJ with a very very short leash. Get JL in the game in the second quarter no matter what to give him a few series. Run the danged ball. Run to the left. Run to the right. Run up the middle. Run the QB keeper. Run a reverse. Run the danged ball! Win every game 16-15.
