Give your guess as to how many more we sign and who. Don't forget about Shomari Clemons. We are sitting on 22 now. Will they all stay aboard? For example, 6 more--Tolliver, Mcknight, Jones, Francois, Blackwell, Clemons. Add Gabriel Bryant because Jarvis Jones who is a soft verbal decommits.
McKnight, Jones, and Toliver are givens. LSU will hold for them. Im pretty sure Francois is a silent commit, since he helped bring Brooks here. There are still a few big time prospects considering LSU. Nothing against Bryant, but I dont think he is at all on the LSU. According to the rivals experts Blackwell will land at LSU. Christian Scott is down to LSU/Ok, most are saying LSU is in the lead. Of course he is supposed to visit Texas, who is now making a hard push for him. We will have to wait and see where that one goes. Damien Berry, another safety is heavily considering LSU. He is still commited to Miami, but will visit LSU later this month. With a good visit, LSU has a chance of stealing Berry. Jason Peters, Cameron Heyward, Demetrius Byrd, Brandon Paul, and Reshad Mason are other who are still in the mix for LSU. I wouldnt be shocked if LSU goes hard after Rishaw Johnson if they are worried about Jones de-commiting.
The first to commit between Heyward and Blackwell get the spot... I think Blackwell will be in Gold and Blue next year...
We have 22 currently and will most likely resign Shomari Clemons. We have a full 25 to give, but teams typically oversign because some won't qualify, like Shomari didn't last year. Therefore we are projected to sign around 28, but that is open to debate. Anyone have a strong opinion on how many they will sign not including Shomari?
I figure Jones, McKnight, Tolliver, Blackwell, Francois and Clemons. If we get those we might have the #1 recruiting class in the nation.
Byrd, Toliver, Jones, McKnight, Francois & Blackwell, IMO. I don't feel real good about Christian Scott as other coaches are stressing how far away we are and the fact that we are probably going to take 2 other safeties in this class. I think he ends up a Horn. Jarvis Jones & McCoy are 2 commits to watch out for a possible switch, and there is also another commit Saban is on heavily. If something happens with any of our current Oline commits then look for us to get Lonnie Edwards, a current Baylor commit. Losing Jarvis would be huge though, he's going to be a good one & I really want him in this class.
I have to wonder if Tolliver commits before Byrd if we won't go with another position. Perhaps, we get Berry or Peters instead. I just am not incredibly high on JC players. I assume he only has 2 years eligibility left right? I know we got Wroten from JC, but he was close to the #1 rated juco out there. I know Scout rates him a 4 star, but rivals ranks him lower. Tolliver would give us 4 WR's already, should we take 5? It wouldn't be the norm because only 3 teams out of the top 25 on rivals took more that 4 in 2006. Of course we could convert one of the WR's to DB.
All 3 of our current WR commits plus Toliver have qualifying issues. Bryant probably won't be with this class. Byrd is actually the most likely to qualify out of all of them. In general, you do not want to go to JUCO for a skill position guy, but we're in a position where we need WRs that can get on campus & play immediately. I do not think Byrd is a backup plan anymore. He may have started off as one due to being from JUCO, but unless something happens with Rashad Mason, I think we really want Byrd in this class regardless of what Toliver does.
