For as much as people say that LSU is the most talented team in college football, there simply is not that large a separation between LSU and the other top teams. I am a big time LSU fan, but OSU probably has more future NFL players on its roster.

    Offense

OL - most likely the 3 of the 5 starters would be OSU players - Ciron Black would most likely start at OSU.
RB - Beanie Wells is the starter over Jacob Hester, Williams, and Scott
WR - Robiskie and Hartline are both better than LSU's number 2 and 3 receivers. Early Doucet is the best on both teams but he definately needs to play better than the last two games.
QB - LSU has the advantage

    Defense

DL - Gholston is probably the only starter from OSU
LB - Laurinaitis and Grant probably are 2 of the 3 starters
DB - Malcolm Jenkins would start and one of their safeties have to be better than LSU safeties Taylor and/or McCray.

Beanie over Hester??? I'm not sure about that--here's why:

    1. Hester is more durable
    2. Wells can't catch the ball out of the backfield
    3. Hester is a great blocker--Beanie often comes out on 3rd and passing situations--MoWells is a better blocker than Beanie
    4. Hester makes everyone around him better and the team responds when he is in the game.
    5. Hester is a leader

Ill take Wells. Hester can be my fullback.

    4. LSU averages more yards per carry when Hester is out of the game
    5. He is a leader, but how can you say Beanie isn't? Are you THAT familiar with Ohio State?

I'll admit I don't know that much about your players, but off the top of my head, if your Tigers had:

    Chris Wells
    Brian Robiskie
    Kirk Barton
    Alex Boone
    James Lauranaitis
    Marcus Freeman
    Vern Gohlshton
Lawrence Wilson( healthy, and hopefully back on 1/7/08)
    Malcolm Jenkins

They would all start for you on saturdays.
Thats 9 easy ones, and I'm sure you guys have 9 "easy" ones as well.
That leaves probably 4 spots up for debate, looks like a "heads-up" to me.

    Peace, and GO BUCKEYES!!

AS a PS. Wilson really shouldn't count, since he missed pretty much the entire season, but if healthy in the Championship Game, he will send "L'Il Ironhead" to the bench, which ain't east to do.

    Clair,

I'm VERY familiar with tOSU as well as the SEC, in general as I live in Mobile. With that said, Beanie, doesn't provide the leadership presence that Hester does, IMO. Sure, as Beanie goes, so do the Bucks--from an offensive perspective--not leadership and presence.....As far as the other poster saying LSU averages more yds per play w/o Hester--that may be true ON PAPER, but how many times did you give the ball to Davis, Williams, or Holliday when the game was ON THE LINE??? That's right, Davis got the ball on the final play against UK--no gain. The backer was unblocked, but I've seen Hester get yds. taking on multiple players....
