Craig Loston pulling up numerous times instead of trying to take a head off? Now maybe he did this because he got flattened on the sideline but it was evident he was pulling up.

I think that is a result of not wanting to be ejected. I think it is because of the new rule.

Yea I'm actually happy he did, because he would be our 1 guy who would get ejected. I hate that the big hit is being eliminated, but glad Loston is changing his game, because we need him.

We all saw it and you can bet the coaches did too . . . It is more important to make the tackle than to lay the wood. If he has dreams of an NFL career, he also needs to take care of his own body. Most of the career-ending neck injuries suffered in football are by the hitter, not the hittee.

That guy Vaccaro for the saints is a tremendous open field tackler....a rarity these days.

I'd rather these guys focus on wrapping up and tackling instead of hitting guys down. Loston got embarrased on the sideline hit where he got leveled and the Auburn player didn't budge. He went for a high hit on a big guy and paid the price.
Take good angles and wrap up. If the wrap up doesn't get him it will give a second or 2 for the other players to converge. A bad hit could allow the guy to keep going and keeps LSU players from possibly getting there.

Go back and watch that play again. Loston realized the ball carrier was going out of bounds, made a last minute adjustment to prevent the ball carrier from cutting back in and to take something off his hit to avoid a flag. Good awareness and execution despite the fact that he appeared to have gotten punked on that play.
