We currently have 21 verbals, not counting Benton, who is a lock. How many of our current verbals decommit or don't qualify and will we get commits from future players who don't qualify? I think one of the Taylor boys was iffy, St. Julien, and I had heard Tolliver was having problems. Anyone care to guess who won't qualify?
If we get the next highest ranked LA guys, Edwards and Tolliver (between us and Satan) that would bump us up to 24, counting Benton, so it would come down to non-qualifiers and decommits to determine how many more we sign. We supposedly lead for Brown WR from Miss which would give us 25. Then we are relative long shots, but in the mix for several out of state studs. Will we need 2 more, 3 more etc., and who do you think we sign?

    J. Taylor & Tim Molton were both questionable to qualify, but it appears that they will now. DC Jefferson was also questionable, but is not qualified.

Tolliver & DeAndre Brown are both questionable to qualify. Based on rumor/guesses, Tolliver has a shot but Brown is almost definitely going the JUCO route.

There are certain prospects on the board that we will sign regardless of numbers, and there are a few commits that will take grayshirts in order to accomodate if that happens. St. Julien has been mentioned as one of the guys that may be asked to grayshirt.

Mike & Sonny have put the number at 28-29 for this class. Earlier it was believed that this would be a smaller class, but due to several defactions on the team (transfers/kicked off) it looks to be a full 25 qualifiers.

Wow, what is it about WR's and qualifying. Last year Benton, now these guys. Anyway, that would mean about 3 to 5 more signees in addition to my previous assumptions, because you usually have one or 2 decommit. We have a couple of soft verbals now according to scout..Hatch, etc. I just don't see us getting about 4 more first tier guys unfortunately. Justin Thompson is supposed to be an LSU lean, but he is a Juco DT and we are deep at that position. CB-- Johnson, Bryant, LB--Brown, McCray, OL--Patchan, Shaw, Jones, McClain, Zebrie
I don't know, maybe we get one more 4 star recruit out of the bunch that everyone is familiar with. I think the remaining 2 or 3 come from 3 star players that are off the radar or that ranters are not that high on.

We actually had 2 more last year. Can't remember their names, but they were taken off of our commitment list because they were so far away from qualifying they didn't sign with us.

Are you counting Darron Thomas as a commit? I think Rivals still shows him as one, but he won't be. There could be one more.

I'm not too worried about Hatch. He's going to be a Tiger.

DT is not that deep, and Justin Thompson is apparently no longer an LSU lean.

I expect LSU to land two 5 stars this year. Benton & someone else (not sure who, Patrick Johnson or Arthur Brown I suppose). The rest of our future commits will be 4 star guys & probably one 3 star.

J.Teague is suspose to be signing with this class after being at a JUCO in Texas. Rivals has a recent article about him on their website. I really liked his size and film when he came out of hs you cant never go wrong with a 6'2 CB with the way WR keep getting bigger and taller.

Says we haven't talked to him in a year, so I'm not sure why Mike has been so sure that he'd be at LSU if he qualifies.

Darron Thomas is not listed on rivals as an LSU commit.

We've had 2 decommits so far, Thomas & Jefferson, will we see anymore?

    Who knows...
