Not that far behind what? The ACC? Baylor is no more, OU will always be OU, KState isn't what it used to be, Iowa State? Texas is still an afterthought, Okie Lite is the most middle of the road team ever. Kansas has sucked since Jabba the Coach left. What's that leave? So you think Herman is coming here? Personally he would be my first choice, but I think the administration wants Jimbo and everyone else is an afterthought.
Sadly, you summed up the Oeaux situation perfectly.I second that emotion. He failed to exercize control of the emotions of the team and of himself. We need a coach with a well defined "process" who can stick to it. We will likely see. Herman could turn out to be the next Urbanick Sabanmeyer but we don't know that. He could also be the next Curleymike Archallnardo.
I was one of the three that voted "oh, God, please be joking." I think Jimbo is some kind of pipe dream (and I don't even know why we want him; without Winston, he's looked more than average.). But who knows? After being embarrassed a couple of times this year, maybe FSU doesn't even want him anymore. I'm not sure why we are conceding Herman is a lock for UT. That would be a mistake, I think. We should put our hat in the ring for him. Why wouldn't we? Because Alleva (that asshat...) wants Fisher? Please... Fedora would scare me. He left the cupboard bare when he left USM, and what has UNC actually done? No...we'll likely end up with a head-scratching hire...and frankly, Orgeron would be that, too. Why can't LSU ever get a sexy hire?
Who would you consider a sexy hire? Herman is about the list for most. And no one even mentioned him the last month because they were getting steamrolled as 3 Td favorites twice. Now the bandwagon is full again. No ones resume compares to Jimbos. Doesn't make him a guarantee but there's none of them available. The reason no one else is vying for his services is bc it's known lsu is the only place he would leave for. In fact he'd be insane to leave fsu for lsu but that's his call. I think he has a score to settle with Saban in his mind.. I wouldn't bet against him. But this is allevas call. He has to land his guy and he can't afford to waste time in a bidding war for Herman then end up with fucking dan mullen. So he's made his choice and wants to end this shit asap before he's left holding the bag.. Again. Which is probably how it will play out.
